New model price

Curious what people's experience has been with new model GS prices relative to the list price. Anecdotally, it seems BMW has done a good job over the years maintaining the supply/demand mismatch (less supply than demand) to allow dealers to sell the new model GS's at list price. As an owner of both BMW cars and motorcycles over the years, haven't seen this as the case in the auto side - even for limited production models (M series, for example). Any thoughts/input from the group on this?

Don't believe in conspiracy theories is my "thought."

Financial requirements to be a bike dealer are surely less than for car dealer and consequently there is little incentive for BMW to urge bike dealers to overstock. Probably less during difficult financial times--the recovery isn't complete.

In addition, expecting discount on the latest, greatest thing is counterintuitive.
