i just spent 4 hours reading this thread and there are so many things to learn. NE who keeping it original to a extent? and trying to make it last a long time. has 12300 miles on it

Avoid deep COLD creek crossings on a hot summer day after an hour trek through the single track.
Thats what got the 550 mill, hyper cooled the cylinder and the rings galled the sleeve and I started using a quart of oil every 60 miles.
So now it lives with a TT600 mill in it, with the 550 flywheel/stator on it.
Its a tractor of an engine and a wheelie machine.

oh yea, i was warned also. i am a trail maniac but love cruising with friends. i avoid going across deep holes or anything. most i made it up was to the bottom of the jug. and even that made me sweat.

i noticed one thing tho on my bike that kinda concerned me... idk if this is normal. but at 65 my bike is at 4000 or 4500 rpms. what are your guys thoughts??? i went outside today and checked if i was 1 down and 4 up. confirmed... but when im riding i dont think i can kick into 5th. im about 65 % sure on this cause i always forget when i get home. ill have to get back to you guys onthat.

65MPH is about right for 4/4500.
Count your sprocket teeth.
15/38 I think is stock.
I have 14/38 on mine, my TT600 was 15/46 I think it was.

sounds like an issue with your secondary carb (vacuum) it might not be operating properly on full throttle .
