Looking for a good overnighter
I'm looking to take a couple of days off work in a week or so and take day out - camp overnight - next day ride home trip. I will be on my VFR, so no offroading. Leaving from Long Beach.
Any good ideas? Any and all suggestions welcomed! |

Me Likey! Me Likey!!!
Here is what I've come up with on AAAs TripTik. Tell me if I'm biting off more than I can chew... Day One: Long Beach to Big Sur via PCH and 101 yeah? About 300 miles. Overnight at Kirks Creek or that Fernwood joint...they have beer? That's a requirement. Day Two: Big Sur to Panamint Springs, Death Valley via Mission Road, Jolon Road over the mountains to 101 to 99 through Bakersfield. Then 58 to 14 to 395 to 180 into Panamint. About 369 miles. Day Three: Get home. Thoughts?!?!? And many thanks btw!! |

Yeah, I can't really see enough of the truck to tell.
I'm going to own a post-'50 Willys Pickup some day. For some reason I seem to be fatally attracted to trucks for which there are no parts available.

Next to Kirk Creek
... and I mean right next to, like a mile north, is Lime Kiln State Park. Dunno if it's open right now but it has better wind protection/shelter than Kirk Creek (but not the view). Lime Kiln itself is beautiful with the trees, bridge and beach. Well worth checking out.
