A buddy of mine buggered some threads on a 60's Vespa Flywheel Cover and wanted to weld the threads then retap it. Consensus is he should just buy a new flywheel cover. I think we're outta the woods.

Yeah thanks Blooch. There was another black Tenere there as well. Good times at the RTE.

I saw both. Parked fairly close to one another. Good looking bikes both.

Indeed.

Why are these three RTE diners (from left, Wreckchecker, Karen, His Pistolship) smiling?

Answer: Because they arrived astride Super Teneres!

(Those black beauties certainly added some class to the KLR-rich parking lot population at the Griffin Tavern!)

Drill Press?

Does any one have a drill press in their home shop in or around the Beltway? I need to make a clean hole through a hitch tube... 1/4in thick steel. The hole needs to 3/4".

I don't have any experience drilling thick steel accurately and I believe a drill press would be ideal. If anyone could lend a hand I would certainly appreciate it

I have one, a medium duty Ryobi - but shouldn't have any trouble with 1/4" steel. You're welcome to use it if you can't find anyone closer. I live just east of IAD. (Met you this past summer on a local ride.) Hope all is well!

I'm sure I can do it at our shop. But due to the nature of the facility, you'll have to give it to me to bring it in. I could meet you nearby and do the handoff and you can grab lunch or get gas while I drill it. It's down in the Springfield area.

I'm in training T, W, and TH, but should be back there Friday. Next week should be fine too. I'll likely be too tied up this weekend.
