Looks like you are just plain miserable up there.
Great pics and it looks like your rain gear got a real workout.

Cheers.

Oh great Dan....now I have to look at those pics twice! .

Just kidding my friend! Thanks for sharing; the North Wet coast is looking a lot better than over here right now. I think winter didn't get the memo that it's technically spring time now! . Hopefully we'll have some similar pictures to send your way soon. Say hello to the missus for us and ride safe.

No need for apologies; I was actually bustin' Dan's chops a little about cross posting on the CH & NOVA threads (which I am 100% guilty of doing many times as well). I meant it to come across as some friendly ribbing, and hope that's how everyone takes it.

PS. I entirely agree with you; beautiful shots and well worth cross posting/double posting.....or more!

Double posting would be better if it included a frontal shot of the chick in the water. Just saying...

Have to admit, actually I posted "in sympathy" with the storm that just went through the mid-Atlantic. The photos of the Valley looked pretty, but I think they would have been prettier in January, rather than late March . . .

So I am in the process of booking a vacation home. I have gone to OBX nearly every year since I was a wee one 14 or so. Are there any other places on the east coast like obx? I may have to switch it up this year. I may miss driving on the sand.

Oh has to be pet friendly. Woof

I am originally from Philly and used to vacation with my family in South Jersey- we really liked Strathmere and Stone Harbor - quiet, pretty beach towns. Ocean City (NJ) and Sea Isle City were more popular b/c of the bar scene and boardwalk. Atlantic City is nearby if you feel the itch to gamble among old timers and their oxygen tanks. Brigantine, Avalon and Long Beach Island also had really nice beaches, I recall. Oh and Cape May is also worth checking out.

I recently spent some time in Bethany Beach in Delaware. It was nice, kinda remote like OBX, quiet, good for families. Dewey Beach in Delaware (right up the road from Bethany) has a big party scene (I remember some drunk dude puked an inch from my car while crossing the street). These beaches are about a 2 hr drive from DC.

I haven't been to Ocean City, MD, but that was also a big draw for Philly families.

Btw I felt that OBX was beautiful but rather remote (i.e. there seemed to be a lot of open space between towns and homes). I think the places I mentioned above are quite condensed in comparison but have their charms.
