20% Discounts

All:

I'm personally not a fan of Pete's Cycles in Baltimore, but 20% off is a good deal for parts and supplies if you need them. I have purchased Triumph oil filters that way.

totally agree 1000%, to me this is racing at its purest and there is virtually zero prize money. So it's all about preparing yourself and the bike, pushing the limits, risking death all be be crowned the King of the Isle.

p.s. I had to watch it again cuz it's so f'ing BADASS!

+1 Super Moto GP is cool and all, but I just don't find it all that exciting with the whole track thing. I love watching Isle of Man TT because of the fact that they run on every day street and that brings along certain irregularities in the road surface that are not present on a track and other irregularities that force the drivers to deal with them. Thanks for sharing this vid!

Looking for a good mechanic

Looking for a mech in the local area, I don't need one right now but I know in the future I will. Any recommendation would be great. Plan on adding LED driving lights to the Vstrom, it one of those things I think I can I think I can but would like someone knows.

I like Khanh's/EUBMW in Alexandria. He works mostly on beemers but he services other makes as well. I've never owned a Suzuki and am not familiar with local Suzuki-specific indies. There are some dealerships that I think service Suzukis nearby (Coleman's in Falls Church and Woodbridge), but I can't vouch for their service depts.

Bob Siegel, my next door neighbor before I moved out west, now works for MFI in Woodbridge. Guy can fix about anything. Shane, the half owner/service manager, would be one to talk to. They're not a Suzuki dealer of course, but Shane told me several times that, depending on the job, they'd work on other bikes. He's an honest guy and worth discussing issues with. Tell them Dan referred you . . . . maybe they'll claim me . . .

George at Beemers Uber Alles in Manassas is fantastic--but sticks mostly to beemers and Urals. Still worth your dropping by to chat. You could again risk using me as a referral . . .

Heard excellent things about Khan, but never went there.

Sorry buddy that was sarcasm... I'm with you. Just imagine the carnage if Isle of Man was on any given Sunday. Damn!

DCrider got it!

Shameless Plug

All:

I'm going to be selling my 2001 Triumph Sprint ST. I just thought I would post it here first to see if anyone had intrest before I put it on the flea market and or fleabay.

Bought new in December 2003

Just turned 68,000 miles on the odometer

Runs great - IMO

New tire on back, front tire is in great shape. Continental Road Attack 2's

Triumph carbon fiber exhaust with the TOR tune, I still have the original exhaust too.

Corbin Seat

Handle bar risers

Mirror extenders

Triumph Hugger and front fender extender.

Wear is pretty good for a 68k mile bike. Never crashed, but dropped three times.

Aftermarket shock on the back (Wilburs).

$2,500

I'll post more pictures later...

Thanks HBN - It still doesn't burn oil! I average in the low 40's for my MPG, but then I also have managed to get 12k out of a set of Conti Road Attacks before.
