PM'd ya Ms2.

That Lost Rhino's some good beer. I'm a hop skip & jump (but never a ride) away from Mad Fox. And we were all tickled a couple years back when the new Lost Dog opened up a mile's walk away!

I have taken the mid way through with this trip, instead of the long way down or the short way 'round. I was wanting to stay in Washington, DC for a coue of days checking out the Smithsonian, memorials and Arrlington. I have been camping for the majority of the trip unless I'm lazy or soaked to the bone, then it's a hotel. I checked out the Tent Space map and mailed a few with one reply to check this thread out. Would anyone out there have a spot for a tent for two/three nights near the DC area? If so that would be awesome. Just PM if you feel up to it. Many thanks for reading this.....
Hope this works out for ya dude. Sorry, but work obligations got in the way.

Some excellent beer suggestions so far

Gave him a big yard to lay his head last night around midnight. Cooked him some eggs, bacon and toast, tea and banana then headed to work. Gave him some ruote suggestions on his way up to Gettysburg to include
  • Harper's Ferry
  • Antietam Natl. Battlefield
  • Cunningham Falls St. Park (via Catoctin Hollow Rd)
  • Michaux State Forest for riding and camping overnight (via Ridge Rd)

On any of my trips, I value positive interactions with strangers. Just passing it along

Well then, he lucked out that I couldn't assist. He would not have left my place with breakfast, but more like food poisoning

That was very nice of you.

Did I mention I was going to be travelling through Arlington tomorrow morning?

I like my eggs over easy. Have you got rye bread? A glass of orange juice, maybe?

Here is two links to my trip so far. The spot site has been giving me troubles with loading and mapping pictures lately. So I just made the web album.

I already have company here, but if you need parking in DC to do museums, send me a PM.

Talking Wow!!

What agreat response. First off, thanks to the ADVrider who suggest to post in this thread. Greag idea! Second, a massive thanks to HBN who put me up for the night like he said at midnight. AMAZING!!! Third, thanks to all those who replied in the thread and sent me PM's. If any of you make it up to PEI for a maritime journey, just find me here and the same hospitality will be reciprocated. Thanks again. I just finished touring Gettysburg. It's incredible how much info they have on the battle gathered over time. Awesome.

Cool! I was camping up in Michaux this morning. Not too far away. PM me if you want some route suggestions.

If you go through Reading, PA...check out the Pagoda on the hilltop

Nice ride!

Funny how it works with light rain/drizzle:

On pavement - not much fun.
On gravel - good riding and no dust!

So true.. the conditions on the gravel were great - good tire hookup and zippy dust. Saw a 2010+ WR250R ride by El Agave in Marshall when I was grabbing a bite. I wonder if that was anyone from here....
