Spotted a blue V-Strom on Kirby road yesterday with an ADV sticker on the back of it. I was the bloke on green Z1000 behind you.

EZPass mounting

Does anyone have an EZPass mounted on their bike? I'm going to use it on my upcoming trip, and it's hard to tell from EZPass's rudimentary illustrations where best to mount it. Thanks.

Mine used to be mounted with velcro on the inside top part of the windsheild of my R1150R, worked fine. My buddy keeps his in his jacket chest pocket and seems to work too.

I have EZ Pass transponder zip tied to the front of my tankbag.

I mount mine with industrial strength velcro to my windshield out of sight. I've now moved it to the hidden fly screen for when I remove the windshield. I've had good luck placing them in my tankbag window too.

Good idea with the tank bag. I wasn't sure if the angle would be ok for the toll reader, but that would be the easiest place for me.

There's a Ural Patrol T in the flea market with only 3700 miles for a good price.

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=895625

But whats up with the rear bike tire? Hack linkage need to be adjusted or???

After following the numerous breakdowns on a newer 2013 Ural Rig in this RR: http://redlegsrides.blogspot.com/

I've completely lost my desire for one. He could have called it "How to break down and wait for service at each Ural dealership between Colorado and Alaska"

This answered my question.

Valencia's Pusher tire, as it showed up at the shop.
It was installed at 16,841 miles, and it made it to 25,000. Not bad, it
was a Heidenau K37, but the excessive toe-in I had contributed to the excessive wear
I was told, I should hopefully get as long or better wear from the new tire.
I just glanced over the blog but yeah, sounds like he had a lot of issues...or more than he should have. I like the concept of 2wd Urals but not the reality.

This holds true in nearly every facet of my life except twisty mountain roads, my BMW and beer.

not that I had my 2005 Ural Patrol all that long (2yrs+) and probably only put 3-4K on it but I had zero issues with it, and my tire did not wear like the one BWalsh posted, it pretty much wore even across the tread

I'd still consider a Ural but after skimming thru that Blog HBN linked I can see why he has lost his desire for one. What amazes me is the guy still likes the bike! If it wasn't for bad luck he'd have had none...
Either there were too many people screwing with the bike over the course of the ride and caused some of the issues or the bike was just a complete lemon...and should have been bought back/replaced by Ural with another IMO.
