That's a beautiful sight.
I'll have to check out Laurel Fork. When does it take place?

Thanks HBN. I'll probably have to skip it if it's at the end of September but I'll keep my eyes peeled for exact dates.

The spring LF is usually the end of April. Watch for the thread that's usually posted in December or January.

I don't think the fall LF has happened the last couple of years because there's just too much other stuff going on.

Some of us were at LF a couple of weeks ago. Here's a link to my RR that I'll finish later today.

Terrific RR! I love the photos, especially the one of your bike against the wildflowers. Laurel Fork looks like a great place to do some exploring. If it's 40 degrees in August, I wonder what the temps will be in September, but that's part of the adventure, right?

Thanks for the link!

23F was the lowest I remember on an official campout.

I hope your tent was warm! Was that the fall or spring one?

Dunno...I go about once a month when it isn't socked in with snow anyway. I sleep in a hammock and yes, it is quite warm if you prepare properly

This time in Feb was a bit cold for the hammock though so had to break out the tent (not @LF)

Spring LF Sunday morning, April 21 2013. It read 23 about 10 minutes earlier.

Not exactly Laurel Fork (about 5 or 10 miles from the actual campground, but I wasn't going to make it in that far with the amount of snow on the ground), back in January of this year.

Rock Creek Parkway

How is this road on a Friday Afternoon?

I am helping a friend move (she lives in North Bethesda) and I am trying to figure out how to get there. I won't be able to get off early enough to ride with the wife, so I am going to be riding the bike in rush hour in DC. Trying to find the best route.

Thanks,
John

EDIT: I am leaving from 20th and K.
