Naturally I have many friends in the area but I plan to be asleep by 8 and riding by 6 so it doesn't usually jive with most folks.
Where are you headed in NC? Hiking down there should be out of this world this time of year.

I'm jealous. Have fun, take pictures, post them here!

I need to get back to Joyce Kilmer. The wife has never been, and I think she'd get a kick out of it.

I love that forest. So lush and alive.

You might want to make sure everything you want to do in NC is still open.
Looks like most facilities are closed, but the land is open.

You don't seem overly wedded to facilities.

I have been to the Joyce Kilmer rest stop on the NJ turnpike many times. It looks a lot different.

I rode to work today. I am just now drying out. 8 hours of dampness.

I could go with cold and dry, but this sucks.

Donovan rode to school every day this week except this morning (Fridays are date day/night with his girl so no motorcycle, our rule). I offered him rain gear. He refused.

If it's warm and raining, that's fine. If it's cold and dry, that's fine. This cold and rainy... no go for me. (Plus I hurt my back last weekend at BRC class. Donovan made the sacrifice and rode my CBR home for me so I could sit upright on his V-Strom. )

this weekend

I was looking foward to getting in some ride time this weekend too. As most stated already, warm / rain is ok but cold and rain is a bad combo. I guess we'll just have to wait for Sunday...

I had to take the cat to the vet this morning. As a result, I got to work via car. Being warm and dry has some pretty awesome advantages once you get to your desk.
