Would welcome company if people are interested, or can go solo.
Could catch ya at 495 and GW PKW. What time ya thinking?

I am thinking of leaving my place in Arlington at 8:00. I would suggest meeting either in Turkey Run Park or somewhere on River Road around 8:15-8:30 if you're game.

I can be somewhat flexible on time, I just need to make sure it doesn't turn into an all day odyssey.

I'm a maybe. Unless I get the urge to rake up 3 acres of leaves or get a better ride option, say from the Swedish Bikini Team... I'd be departing from Stafford. I assume this is all street?

Yeah, all street. I wouldn't subject anyone else to my slow gravel pace on the TU250x.

I'm coming from Ashburn so either one will work for me. Looking at that map, River Road on the West bound side of 495 should be a good spot.

We could meet at either in the parking lot for the housing development right off the highway or else at the historic blacksmith shop just past it (yeah street view!) that has a little spur of asphalt.

Not much else out there unless you're a member at Congressional.

VA Commuter, if you can make it, we can either all meet there or else you could meet me in Arlington and we could ride up to MD together.

Looking to avoid the longest most boring stretch on 15, I added the four points on the extreme west of the map here.

http://goo.gl/maps/mbvjW

This includes Bull Run Mountain Road, which I think is dirt. I would be willing to do this if others don't mind a sedate pace. My bike has soft short travel front suspension, and I am a big dude, so I can't rip at 45mph down a fire road. 25-30 is closer to the mark.

What are your thoughts? I am agnostic.

Lacedaemon screwed with this post 10-17-2013 at 02:26 PM Reason: Edited with another small addition to the west.

Looks good. I will be on my Multi, so it should be a fun jaunt. One thing though, on the map it shows 4 hrs 8 mins, is that enough time? Should we head out a bit earlier?

Just don't challenge me to a drag race. I would have to let you kick my ass.

Also, I made one more addition to the west and edited the link. Just trying to avoid boring 15.

Here it is again.

I could leave at 7 and meet at 7:30. That would also help with traffic.
