Since my wife works 5 blocks from me and has free parking, I commuted by cage with heated everything. It was wonderful.

That said, on the 5 block walk, my beard was catching my breath and flash freezing. it was actually really fun. I was walking down the street making faces to enjoy the crackling sensation. Folks must have thought I was crazy.

I love cold weather. I would be happy if the only time it got warmer than this in winter was to allow a big mass of warm (~25 degree) wet air in to dump a couple of feet of snow. I should probably move to Maine.

Probably a fluid flush, rubber and line inspection, tire inspection for flat spots/inflation and a fresh battery. New fuel filter and oil in due course.

The 65' Norton Atlas for sale is really nice

^ That little bastard is the older brother of the first bike I had in Japan. Street-ready, great ride, could be a solid deal for somebody, though I wonder about a full carb rebuild @ 500 miles...sitting for ages & got gunked up maybe.

Likewise. I have a 500mi TW200 with a very similar carb and engine which I had to clean out recently. Ethanol is evil.

Wayne, thanks a ton for the offer, and in a different month I'd offer a few beverages in exchange for use of the kit...in my present situation I'm gonna try Crossroads. Both they and Bob's quoted about an hour, and I'm sure George would be about the same. But they're not 10 miles away from me, and January's kind of complicated right now.

Again, thank you sir!

Giving The Wolf an oil change took forever on account of viscous oil.

Wasn't me. I was working.

Frequenting the myriad of scooter forums lends an entire underground of really downtrodden individuals. So many sob stories of needing to get to work on the broken scooter or they 're fired , bicycling to dialysis treatments due to a clogged jet, not getting to the VA hospital. Such a different group and diverse group than the middle upper class whale foreskin riding suit BMWista.

Congrats to those that braved a ride this morning. I'm on ly in town for a couple of days, wrong riding gear here to be playing on the KLR so I took the cage and walked the 1/2 mile between free parking lot and work today. Wow - instant flashback to 1981 and my time in the Arctic Circle - Fun, but the lack of threat by Polar Bear attack takes the drama out of it.
