FTSU, wow, that is strange; especially since you say you've pumped the tube up to 100psi. That tire must have a really stubborn (stiff) side wall. Either that or as HBN said, maybe it's the wrong tire size for that rim? Don't know what else to tell you that hasn't been suggested already. At some point I would just give up and take it to a motorcycle shop and have them do it or just use another tire. I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear, but that's all I've got.

Good luck.

I'm sure you tried this, but I would probably spoon it down all around so it wasn't on the bead at all then ratchet it and slowly inflate it and watch where it fills in and doesn't. I'd lube that spot then apply another strap across the problem section perpendicular to the strap around the circumference. Inflate without valve stem.

I put Pilot Activs on my old K75 and really liked them compared to the lasertecs that people typically put on them. Pretty limited choices for decent bias ply tires, but I was impressed with those Michelins.

I got new rubber in the mail today and was about to bring them to r&r to get the put on the rims but realized they were closed on Mondays and so is everyone else... sat outside with tire irons for about 45 mins on the rear rim lo luck. I guess Ill be waiting till after work tomorrow. Back to picking out parts for a 29er since the season has come again. Might have to build a bike rack for the gs as well. We shall see in time. If anyone has got any knowledge they wish to led me this if my first build and knowledge is always welcome.

Btw new rubber is the k60s can't wait to get them in some dirt

Where did you get them from? The next rear for the 990 will be either a K60 or a Midas E-07 though the latter is only available from mx1canada...

I think I have a problem because I was actually going to do that when I realized it would take a day there and a day back so an entire weekend dedicated to new rubber and 1500 or so miles.
