I went to the left. Because that is what I remembered reading I should do. When my bike sunk in the hole, I was lucky enough to power out and juke to the right.

Lessons learned: Left and right are directionally dependent. I was coming from the west or far side, and should have gone right.

That is why I think the correct crossing side is "downstream."

All this talk about JEB Stuart has me wanting to head there next week. Maybe try that other crossing off of Logmill as well. I'll show you guys how its not done

The crossing on Logmill is good fun. Almost dumped a KLR in that one once!

Where is that one? I don't know it. The only other crossing I know anywhere around here is in the Frederick Watershed up in MD.

Not sure about Logmill but there's another one on Peach Orchard.

Peach Orchard is probably the one he is talking about. Connect to Little River Road on the other side of the river, then connects to Logmill.

You might be right; it's probably Peach Orchard, just off of Logmill. Sorry, it's been a little while and that's not really my neck of the woods anyways. It is kinda surprising to find a low water crossing in that part of NOVA.
