Question

Hey does anyone know where in NoVA I can get Posi-Lock stuff? I'm calling car parts stores and coming up dry...

Some Napa stores have them. I bought some previously at the Napa on Liberia in Manassas. However, I have found it is easier to just order a variety pack direct from posi products.

Northern VA Chatter Thread

2009 DR650. I recently replaced both front and rear tires. I used the Marc Parnes wheel balancer and when spinning the rims it looked as though they both had slight flat spots and bends. I bought the bike used and it has always had a noticeable front wheel hop around 35-40mph. It also has a shaky/wobble feeling above 65mph. Does anyone know of a person or shop that has experience in wheel building and truing or can tell me whether my wheels are ok or not. I'm located in Manassas.

stickr screwed with this post 07-27-2014 at 12:30 PM Reason: Added location.

Call George at Beemers Uber Allies. He doesn't typically work on non-beemers, but I don't think that applies to wheels. I would venture he has trued his share of wheels given the number of airheads in his stable. He is off Hornbaker in Manassas.

I saw his 5 star reviews online and left a message. Thanks!

I'll be getting a new one in the next few weeks.

He did my tire changes on my Suzuki. I just had to bring him the wheel of the bike. Seems like a pretty cool guy.

I got the impression that his only BMW rule was kind of for the flat rate tire change stuff.

Anyone want to buy a Kaoko and handguards for DL650?

I replaced the Suzuki handguards and Kaoko throttle lock with some Barkbusters and the appropriate Kaoko.

Before I market them on the big list, is anyone here interested in them?

They are scratched up but perfectly useable. I would be looking for a decent offer.

Unfortunately George at BMW Uber Alles said he couldn't help me out with truing my DR650 wheels. Where does everyone else have their wheels worked on?
