Removed the cannister on my 05 gs12.Any reason to leave the valve that the hoses go to?Or can i unplug the connecter and remove it too?Thanks Ed

I believe you have to leave it on but I do not remember why.

Thanks.I just got to ride about 30 miles this morning,removal does not seem to have had caused any problems,but the writing of error codes was something i had not thought of. Ed

The purpose of the charcoal cannister is to trap escaping fuel tank gas as required by EPA to sell bikes here. Rip out all the tubes and plug up the connectors on the throttle bodies and gas tank. Less weight and more filling.

Checked at the plug with a meter and was showing about an 8 volt reading (engine running at idle) do not know what activates the valve to open/close.Plugged the lines and plugged it back in,just in case. thanks again. Ed
