KLR 250 miles

Just in case there are any 250 fans here, my '03 KLR 250 has over 24,000 miles on her, and she runs like a top.

08 Mileage

2008 KLR650 10,680 miles bought w/4000 on in about a year ago. 2003 Super Sherpa "little brother" with 12,000 on it. While I'm here does anyone have a bone stock 2008? I think that my bike has lowering links but I don't have a stock one handy to measure.

2008 KLR 650, runs better than new as its broken in now.
18,041 kms when I parked it after the days ride.

Doo is done, adjusted 1 exhaust valve, several oil changes, 5 tires worn out 2 fronts and 3 rears, battery expired this Jan replaced with sealed one, 1 new headlight bulb, dealer replaced all 4 signal lights under warranty 2 were broken when it went in, progressive fork springs and fresh fork oil.

A lot of smiles, and I look forward for to many more miles.

Closing in on 24,000 miles on my '02. I Bought it in 06 with about 2k on it and quickly did 3 6,000+ mile trips. I Haven't done a long ride since my son was born almost 2 years ago, but plan on doing one this summer before our 2nd kid is born. Hopefully get I'll get to 30,000 before fall. I'll admit that I burn a bit of oil, but not complaining...yet.

I've got nearly 15K miles on a 2003 that I bought last year (had sat in a guy's garage with 300 miles on the ODO, not even broke in yet).

I've never run synthetic in my KLR. I change the oil out every 1,500 with either Mobil 1300 or Rotella 15w40. Castrol 20w50 in the summer when I'm touring. Not to start a war, because I'm always willing to learn, but in my readings the KLR shears the oil pretty quick (synthetic or otherwise). Maybe someone can chime in with alternative means, but for now I leave synthetic to the V-twins.

I have liked kdxkawboy's posts here about the dohickey. I back off and hand-tighten in it back (stock 'hickey) at every oil change. 130K on his bike with the stocker is amazing.

I aim to break 100K with my KLR.

You can't make a comment like the above and not elaborate--it's against the rules
