CB350 - What year?

Hi. I picked up a CB350 today. I'm not sure what year it is since it didn't come with a title. I was hoping some one here might be familiar with the model. I'm guessing it's an late 60's early 70's model bike. I didn't grab the VIN yet since it's dark out. Here's a picture.

Here's a lot of what i've noticed on it to try and help w/ figuring the year. It's drum front and rear. The front drum has 2 arms for the brakes. It's has come writing on the chrome covers on the upper side of the cases that says "Type 1". It has both electric start and kick start. The exhaust is low and all chrome. I'm not sure what else I can describe. Let me know if you have any more questions I can answer to help locate a year. I'll grab the vin tomorrow.

Looks like a 1969.

Frame number should be CB350-1020596

That there looks like it's a K1 from 1969.
Or at least the tank is from then.

Does your front fender have to little holes on it toward the front tip?

MMitchell,

I believe I am north of you some but I brought this 1969 home a couple of weeks ago I believe I will be putting a tag on it this week.

From what I can see of yours it is a '69, is it blue or green? I have started getting some spare parts together but having trouble finding some of the basics.

Good Luck with it and hope to see it in person soon.

Michael, this looks exactly like it except mine is blue. Very cool. Also, you are just north. Lillington is right after goodyear tire on 210 iirc. I drive through there often when riding the sv.

I'll hopefully have more info to answer questions tonight.

I think with the stripe in the middle of the tank, it's a K1. The K0 didn't have the stripe.

That goes along with the information I have found also.

As for the holes in the front fender for the reflector, I believe this was an '68-early '69 model only feature but I have seen more '69s without them then with them. You can also find '69 model sales fliers that don't show the reflector on the fender also, so it gets confusing to say the least.

I had one with identical paint, but red, and was a 1970. Canadian model, so possibly different.

Based on what I found at this site, it's a 68-69 K0. It should make for an excellent restoration. The guy I got it from has a SL350 as well. He said he'd be happy to help with the restoration process on the bike.

The '68 had no tank stripe, the '69 had the tank stripe, and the '70 had a different tank (no rubber knee pads) and paint scheme (no white headlight & side covers). I had a '69 that did have the little vertical front fender reflector. I got it new in late '69, and it was sold and registered as a '70 model. That happened fairly frequently, so there is some confusion with dating older bikes by paperwork.

The K0 over here had an oil pressured cam chain tensioner, the K1 onwards had a hand adjusted one.

This being the case along with the rest of the responses make me confident it's a 69. I'll try and get frame and engine numbers tonight.
