Mark, I think we are WAY behind the eight ball here in Florida....nobody has anything from twenty years ago here... it's all new, shiny, bright, or gets thrown out in the first five years!!

Found this one via Craiglist a couple of winters ago. I was toying with the idea of a side hack when my wife decided to quit riding her own bike. This find tipped the scale and I hauled it home for $1200.00. More than I wanted to pay but weaseled the guy down from $1500.00. The R90/6 motor was quite healthy and the top end went on my R75/5 which was used to drag the hack.

As found- Bus in back was pretty cool......the guy also had a nice old Moto Guzzi Eldorado sitting in there. Hadn't been run for a few years. I didn't pursue that one......there was also an old dirty, weathered "Hells Angels" denim vest hanging on the wall.

1974 Jupiter Side car........... The guy had a "American Motors" fetish as you can see in the back ground.

I didn't realize that the hood slid open until I got it home and started messing with it. Tried to get the R90 running but the wiring was all messed up. Some one bypassed the ignition switch and generally made a mess out of it. Hated to scrap the bike but cost vs outcome won over.

Very sun-baked and crispy.

Bike had cooked in the triple digit AZ. climate for quite a few years. Rolling chassis stayed together and went to a fellow rider who will someday bring it back to life.

Got the thing mounted and ran it a bit before commiting myself to the project.

A few months and a couple dollars later........did all the work myself , without a garage.

Installed the R90 top end and changed the final drive to a lower geared unit. Installed a steel R60/2 US front fender and bracing to help stiffen things up a bit. The stock /5 front fork friction damper avoids any low speed wobble. We've racked over 15k miles in this mode and things work well. The R90 top end made a world of difference in the torque department.

I'm now building another tug to hook the hack to. (another thread)

Not related but ya'll gotta check this out.......no second chances here.......my knees are still weak from watching this......

$20? That much! I think you will struggle passing it as hand luggage when you come and collect it though

Just sold my Guzzi California so have space in the garage to start rebuilding it. Making a start this week

Tucked away in the back of a UK ADVriders barn

I'm patiently waiting for this one to come down to the right price.

Check out the tax disk. It ran out in 1980 - probably the last time the bike was used. It's an Ex London Police special duties machine.

He'll probably be along in a while pleading all maner of excuses for them still being there

Wow it has a Brit Bike oil leak! I would love those saddle bags for my BSA, but I guess you would want serious money for those?

Luckly the PO still had the orginal seat and pillon. I went through the bike, full service, new tires, exhaust system and such and it started right up.

Have you another photo of that fairing?

My wife watched 30 seconds before declaring them clinically insane.

I tend to agree.

Yep! It was the bike featured in the magazines when the 90S was first launched.

Surprised we haven't had a visit yet

And whats the exact address of the place where this junk is stored?

No biggie, I'm just.... Curious. My other hobby is collecting addresses.

Really had hope for this one. A 1974 R90/6. Had spotted it about 7 years ago next to a guys house. He thought it was worth a lot and wanted $1500.00 for it.
7 years later I passed his place again and saw him in the front yard. Approached him again and caught him in a weak (or broke) moment.
$375.00 bought it with a clear title.
I had hopes to get it running. Engine was barely free and I finally got it to turn over in high gear with the rear wheel.
Pulled the heads and found sand had entered the cylinders.....had a bad spot on a piston, and the clutch actuator bracket on the transmission was broken had been crudely repaired. Old bike actually looked pretty good from 20' after a lot of cleaning & de-greasing.

Tank had a hole repaired that failed.....

A couple of days later.......

At about the same time this wrecked one came into my sights for $500.00....I'm a sucker for every junk Beemer I happen upon......This thing had taken a hard hit and the frame was tweeked, the engine was rusted solid.....but an earls fork and a 1000CC'S. Hmmmm......

A day or two and here's where we were............

6 months later and more nickels and dimes that I wanted to add up and we are here: R90/6 + R100S = R100S/6?

Firing up the engine for the first time.......

A year into the project and finally put together. This "Thing" will be a long term project. Plan on racking up a lot of miles this year!....so far have ridden it about 50 yards.....round trip....

Acewell computer......

Now if the snow and ice will hurry up and melt!
