short scoot

I took a short scoot to check out the colors this afternoon, only about 150 miles. I went down 71, over 282 to Rudy, then via Hobtown Rd (24/262) to Hwy 59, Natural Dam and back to Fayetteville. Hazy, not perfect for colors.

A squid past me several times (playing on Hobtown Rd and 59)...

A snake passed me...just once...

Caught a Harley guy waving at a scooter...

Cool old barn/building in Cane Hill...

Nice ride Tim. I stayed home and cleaned and serviced the DRZ and did homework. You had more fun I'm sure.

Buckhorn looks like a good time. I've ridden mountain bikes in Devils Den alot but I've never been over on that side by the horse camp I dont think. Where does the trail start after you leave the horse camp?

Where we started last Saturday was about 5 miles south of the horse camp just before you hit the Old Cove City Road. We crossed Fall Creek and went west but there is another trail that goes north up that rocky ledged hill climb. There are more than a few of the trails that connect to Pannell Rd. It is really a neat area to ride.

Yeh! I know what you mean. You don't really get the full affect. One thing to note, the videos view larger and with more clarity if you click on Oleary up there below the video title and it takes you to my shared Vimeo site. Then click on whatever video you want to view. It is has a larger format with better clarity there I think.

Cool I'll have to tag along sometime with you guys. I've ridden Cove Creek road, Pannell etc but I keep hearing about some good dirt bike trails out there. That would be a nice short trip to hit for some quick dirt riding.

Sounds good! It really is close and the horse camp is a perfect staging area to park and unload. Plus you get to hang out with some horseman. Different horses for different courses! I first saw this area on video by Boogn1sh a couple years back riding with a couple of his buddies in a thunderstorm. Water everywhere, they had a hard time finding the trail on occasion. I tried to go back into his Vimeo site but I didn't find it. I might have to look a little harder. It was awesome.

These trails remind me of the Mill Creek area 20 years ago. Not sure about all the advertisement. Hate to see them get over ridden and tore up like Mill Creek.

Although I know of some areas around Mill Creek that I want to check out and see if they are still open to ride. That may be some of the trails you speak of with the Razorback Riders. I know they were the ones we used to use on White Rock Enduro back in the day.

Buckhorn Creek RIde

These are the last two videos to post on last Saturdays ride.

I guess I didn't get Tracy's little slide. I looked for it but I guess the video camera was off. I don't think I would have gotten it anyway, it happened before I turned the corner.

Trails? Yeah, I think they're closed. Sorry Ted.

Rode the Mill Creek trails last w/e, quad trail and singletrack. Could not have found the good stuff without someone leading us to it. Some of it was rutted pretty bad from the last enduro but most of it was in decent shape. Found some hills that were very exhausting but to my surprise there were a lot of smooth trails too. Some sections of the quad trail were a blast!
