Hi Bro BIRD

The accesories & spare parts of AT...RD04 or RD07 onwards are easily available in SG. Not much of probelm even you need secondhad accessories but give some time to source it. Only thing is how to ship it from West M'sia to Sarawak and any tax imposed (even it is with M'sia)?.

I just got back from S'pore yesterday to get the parts for my AT and it preparing it for a long ride...sometime this few months.....no definite destination or schedule.....just when I have my leave .....anywhere Thailand, Laos or Cambodia.....even Vietnam if I have the time and mood.

p.m. me if you need anything ...see whether I can assist.

Here's some random pics of my previous 7 days solo ride to Koh Samui & Phuket in Jan 08.

The journey from Hatyai to Koh Samui was from the coastal route which passed thro Hua Sai, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Sichon & Don Sak before boarding a ferry to Samui island using the Raja Ferry.

From Samui Island thereafter departs for Phuket via Surat Thani and Phang Nga then cross over to Phuket. The ride of the east coast to west coast loop of the southern Thailand was pleasant and enjoying if one has the time to ride with any fixed time schedule.

Hi. Here's some of the pics from the ride........

Preparing for the morning ride from home.....

Songkhla......Gulf of Thailand

Ride out of Songkhla towards Sichon...along the coastal road.

Stop for pics at the "Longest Bridge in Thailand".....Saphan Thisulanonda.

Wat along the route Santhing Pra village towards Nakhon Sri Thammarat.

Reached Donsak.......waiting for ferry to Koh Samui.

Samui island at a distance..........

Stayed at the Bohput beach...hotel called " World Resort"....mostly Itlainas and French tourist.......topless sometimes

Watching sunset on the beach........

.....then sunrise next morning.....

Riding out around the island........

Again.....sunrise next morning before riding to board ferry to Donsak for Phuket........

To continue.....on Phuket.

Continuation....riding to Phuket.

Reached the gateway to Phuket and stayed at Patong Beach........too touristy.

Stayed at the C & N Hotel.....Patong Beach.....nice hotel.

Beach front ....quiet in the morning......all party goers are still sleeping.

Near the Phuket Aquarium.....

Phuket is a place for tourist and those who like to party all night........

The best experience of the trip is the "TOKYO FACIAL MASSAGE" in Junggceylon Shopping, Patong ,Phuket........good facial treatment and relaxing.........no hanky panky.

So much for the little trip.

Just wonder if one can ride the east m'sia in 2 weeks by staggering the trip into 2 stages ie. ride for 8 days in Sarawak and thereafter continue a month later for the remaining 8 days or so in Sabah before shipping bike back to West M'sia?

What will be the cost of shipping and duration to Sarawak and back from Kota Kinabalu?

Perhaps Burung can share some experience on this?

Maybe then I can start palnning for the borneo/east m'sia ride sometime in the near future.

In the mist of reorganizing my previous ride pics of my first ride to Northern Thailand for 17 days in 2008 .......as the 1st time is always the best
