Westy

I don't want to distract from this thread, but here is a post from a few years back with some pics. The van has all of the goodies (heater, class 3 frame mounted hitch, awning, carpets, wheels, airbags, inverter, 2nd battery, Euro H4's, interior lights, etc.) It has been garaged its whole life and still has the original undercoating. It needs a cleaning and a couple of small things fixed (rear door struts, driver's window switch needs cleaning, maybe a couple other small things I'll find when I clean it). Synthetic in the tranny and engine for the last 45K miles. I'll cry when it goes. It's given my wife and I (and subsequently our kids) unmatched travels in the west. We have a map with pins all over it marking our travels. After I clean and shine it I'll be asking low 20's.

There is something to be said about step-through campers!

There have been some great family conversations
In a 7' x 10' space
Imagine renting a 70sqft room anywhere
And having a grand time

That is neat, but from what I gather the starting price is $12k USD.

Also, while it is nice to have something that folds down like that, I didn't see too much about how much you can put inside when folded down, or how accessible the inside is when folded down. In short, would it only be useful when folded up? Or could you use it as a canopy shell when folded down.

Also, I didn't see if it was available in different sizes - like for the 6+ foot bed on my Toyota vs. a full sized bed. The website didn't have much info.

Source for Vinyl Extruded Welt

I'm needing to do some minor repairs on my 8' awning on my tent camper and could use a source for some welt (it fits in a channel and is sewed into the awning cover) who will sell it by the foot with reasonable shipping costs. I've spent time searching the net with no results.

I may just resew the existing welt if I can't find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your help.

Go to a local automotive or boat canvas shop.
