This reminds me of a trailer I saw on a TV show a while back. I think It was Extreme 4X4, on Spike TV. They built a similiar unit, only it was three axle, gooseneck, and I think 30' so it could haul a trail rig on it. Was really cool.

Built a wicked diesel powered Hummer clone on an old suburban chassis to tow it with. It was really cool.

Any one have any idea what that door is from? I've checked/looked/googled everything I can think of but can only find full sized doors for caravans (I think you blokes call them RV's or trailers??)

I don't know if it these doors--- but here is one source I found by googling "build a teardrop + doors + suppliers" (or close to that)

Quote:

Rexco RV Door Mfg Co.

No web site. Located at 1912 Agusta CT., Ontario, CA. 91761 (909) 930-1520. Manufacturers of RV door and frame assemblies and will build to your dimensions with slider screen window, flush locking door knob, and choice of aluminum siding.
Here is the url where I found that.
http://www.outbackteardrop.com/reference.html

guessing he may be an Aussie.

another possible source:

There are always a few sellers on Ebay (USA) that have those doors. I searched Ebay (AU) for "teardrop door" and got no results. I then searched Ebay (UK) one USA seller popped up. Maybe he would ship to Australia.

Very nice. Any idea what it weighs, or it's tongue weight?

How big of a door do you want?

I will be near some of the RV surplus places tomorrow?
And keep in mind some of the larger windows double as escape "hatches" so you could, with a slight modification, use a window..

One of my colleagues started this company with her husband:

The trailers aren't cheap, but they seem to be doing really well and usually have a wait list.

My wife and I have been considering that type of a rig, and through looking at this website, I learned that there's a National Rally for these small fiberglass camper rigs this coming July, in Bandon...a mere 30 miles South of us!!! Most EXCELLENT!!!

We'll get to check out different brands, layouts, constructions, and of course...$$$$. Plus we'll be able to talk to the different owners to hear the pros & cons of each one as well.

Apparently, there were 112 different trailers at last year's gathering.
