Before we get into the story, I need to give you some details. This trip started out as an all street ride. I was going to join along and hit some dirt along the way. meeting up with the group at designated points. Well All the street folks decided it wasn't for them ( except for one who was riding a KLR anyway). So it was decided that it was going to be a dual-sport ride.

I get picked up by TedShred at 0600. A quick drive to pick up dougholck and and we were off. Only when we get to where we were meeting doug, my KTM decided it wanted to rest already.

No damage. it didn't even fall over, it was just leaning.

It was an uneventfull ride south from Sacramento to San Diego where we will park the truck for 10 days.

Here I am unloading the KTM:

I didn't have time before we left to change my rear brake pads. they had about 25% left. I brought them along so that I can change them in San Diego. Only I got the wrong ones. Oh well, I guess 25% is going to have to work.

We unload and head out for dinner.

I talked the group into going to Little Italy for dinner:

The next morning we load up and get things started.

I'm going to take a break to give the rest of the guys to get some of their pix in. they might (most likely will) have a different story

I just had to try a bottle of this "Pear Wine" Actually was pretty good, more like Cider. We had it at dinner at Mama Espinosa's

Okay,...I was rudely awaken at my work desk with "You've Got Mail" from a guy by the name of Frank C............I'm told there is a ride report you have to go check out.........Well I get here and have my popcorn and brew ready.....but no ride report...........Okay you guys, unload those cameras, warm up those typing fingers and get to It....We're Waiting.

Second day was an easy and uneventful street ride to Bay of LA.

Breakfast at another favorite spot in El Rosario

One of the finer service stations along the way

Highly recommend this place, clean rooms, good food...

...and a good guard dog

Snack time

Had a few drinks with this Canadian couple. They were getting set to kayak from B of LA to Muleje. Sounds like a lot of work

They did enjoy their drinkin'

I think this guys been watching TOP GEAR

Tomorrow we're off to San Francisquito.

We met up with John and Bfrank right before we crossed the border in Tecate....

And what about the amazing tacos we got in Tecate right after crossing the border????

I mean......KtmNate couldn't eat them fast enough......

This cute little guy was watching KtmNate to make sure he wasn't going to hijack his lunch....

Then we hit the bank and headed for the WINE.......

After we tasted some

, then bought some wine, it was time to find some more tacos......

After we filled up on tacos AGAIN..........it's off to El Rosario...

Here's one of the bridges we had to detour around.....

Stayed at the Baja Cactus in El Rosario and had a delicious dinner at Mama Espinosas...

Tomorrow..........we ride to Bay of LA.......

As Ted mentioned, the ride to Bay of LA was pretty uneventful. We did stop for some fuel and a quick bite....

Then it was off again....

Early afternoon refreshments....

And dinner........Victoria fixed a big platter of fish and shrimp and scallops....yum yum yum....

The sunrise in Bay of LA was absolutely beautiful...

Had a great breakfast and then it was time to tell Scooby goodbye...

Now it's off to San Francisquito....

Ted "Big Strong Man...."

The cactus are sooo tall....

KTM all loaded up and ready to get going already...

On our way to San Francisquito, we had our first casualty....

Now it's time to figure out the extent of damage to Doug's BMW.....

KtmNate can fix it.........

OK, Doug is hurting and the bike is hurting a bit as well, but we need to get to San Francisquito so Doug can rest and we can determine how badly he is really injured....

I guess KtmNate was hot.......

Ahhhh......paradise found at last............

He was on that same flapped out tire

Luckily Ricardo at Rice and Beans had a brand new 17" Sahara so he changed it in San Ignacio...
