Very nice. The low pipe sure changed the overall appearance. Much "lighter" looking.

It's done!!...except for paint

Got all the cables hooked up and the rubber bits for the petcock.
All I need to do now is mix up some gas and fire this baby off...

I have a stash of old stickers and thought this would be a good place for this classic...

Congratulations Valleyrider ! How about some action shots later in the year,
when you're at a vintage flatrack perhaps...

Badges, I need some stinking Badges!!!

The original 1968 tank is at a local "Old School" body and fender guy's shop.
Going to get the massive dent out and paint it Pearl White (as close to original as possible).
The badges that were on the 1970 (red) tank I found at the local salvage yard wre pretty rough, but I refuse to pay $175. for a set of red 1968 badges that the guys on ebay want! Even re-production badges are $80. a pair...
I'm just a Cheap Ass! These will do for a "Vintage Racer".

Oh the memories you've brought back for me. Thank you.

Had one of these in my early teens and it was so dead reliable and fun. Keep up the good work.

This is/was the original tank for the project bike. Looks like someone may have used a large sledge hammer to tune it up. I had a bad feeling about trying to save it... That is until I met Dave Williams.

Dave tried to tack and pull the dent, but it wouldn't budge. He then cut the side of the tank off (the outside!!) and used what is mostly a lost art these days... He hammered the dent out and welded the tank back up. Paint will be applied in the next week. Dave Williams is a true Master Craftsman!!!

It Runs!!

Just couldn't wait for the paint to get done...
Used the tank off the "Donor" bike and fired the engine today.
Real rich and 25/1 on the oil mixture just to be safe.

It's alive !!!!

And your neighbors will now have a new reason to despise you...

Just my opinion: Man..first ride on a newly put together ride...take 2 seconds and throw a helmet on.
