Anyone going to Kowen (ACT) ?

As per heading. Just wondering what to expect. I've seen some Youtube vid's and it looks pretty awsome.

I've booked in but with reservations about taking the XR650. It looks like alot of tight single track. Just what the pigs were made for.........not. My XR250 is better suited but isn't registered so I might have to hire a mates XR400, but we'll see what happens.

I'll be there again, making a fool of myself as usual!

Photo from last year, went to Apex - Batemans Bay too, DNF that one!
Be there Friday arvo, set up camp and get a feel for the area on the demo track.

Couldn't afford a 'GSA', so now it's an 'XSA' "I didn't do it! & whoever said I did, is a liar!"

I've ridden Kowen on my XR600, it's got some single track but it wasn't a problem. The XR eats that stuff. Just don't use desert gearing.

'I think I can see my bike in there', both days we lined up on the far right, in the front corner! there were about 16 of us.
Was a top ride, dust was a bit heavy though.
Will be back next year.

Cheers

kowan

Back to the original Question:

Mate did Kowan last year and loved it!!!

I have done several sunny corner rallys on my old XR 6, and whilst a 'bit of a handful' in the real tight stuff, she was still a blast to ride!!! and ohhh so comfy!!

We were planning to do this ride, (I think 1 or 2 the of the Central Wast DSMRA guys I ride with are heading down though.)

But with the 4 day in our backyard,,,,
I will be busy there,,,,,,

Enjoy the ride....

Cheers
MacKa

I'm hoping to get quite a few photos from this one,
had a rather old fashioned SLR camera last year, [too big & bulky],
now have a compact little jobbie which fits onto my armour,
so any ADV'ers, say hello and I'll try to get some shots while out on the ride

The Northern loop is usually the tightest with the most single track, the Southern loop is more open and shouldn't be a problem, couple of single tracks but easy stuff.

My old XS swims well & mud hasn't been a problem,
It's those bloody trees that jump in front you that's my concern!
DNF on the southern loop, sore wrists caused by a short stop into a tree!
