Please Alibaba, give us some figures and numbers from your rebuild, i really love your bike. it's a shame that you didn't let the others know that this bike is done by HPN.

John

You can turn anything into a Dirtbike.

The R65 is a good place to start as it has basically the same chassis as the R80G/S. You can put a 94mm R100 top end on it with a bit of fiddling and get a 854cc. Keep the 32mm carbies as they have enought capacity to supply the motor.

Then its a matter of fitting a Front end off any 600cc dirtbike.
Then extend the swingarm. you have 2 options. Run a R100 normal swingarm as it is 40mm longer then the R65.
Or get a R100 swingarm extended 100mm and fit twin shocks to it.

Then its exhaust time . . .
Then what tank do you want to run . . . HPN have a nice 43litre tank which is on bikes on this page.

If you have lots of time and not in a rush you could build one up and have a unique bike . . .
Back a few pages, post #146 is a R65 that has been slightly modified.

It is, as always, just a matter of time and $$$

Thanks for the info Pez!!!

I've always liked the Airheads.... I have the time and some money to spend.

Can I use the front end off a KLR? I have a spare KLR sitting in my shed.

Thanks again!

Check this thread for some good information..

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ont-forks-8209

someone here put a set of Honda 650 forks onto an R8-g/s... the big concern is the offset of the fork legs to the steering stem.

Why not use the KLR fornt end ?

Just need to get the stem the same and use the bars brakes wheel ect. .

Might be able to find a cheaper R65 or R series to start with but . . .

Adapter ?

So its Down to MM now , if someone would tell me what overall length.
Its made. no pussy footing around.
I have made a template and it sits in tight between the 1100 driveshaft
and the R100 output flange at 55MM .
The Question is how much free play must i allow , for the movement of the
driveshaft ?.
Am i explaing/asking this badly , everyone else rolls their eyes and goes Huh !
