First time I rode one in early 80s was horrible. After spending next 15 years on Brits and H-D, I tried another one and you know the results ... My R100 you've seen at the track has over 90K, Judy's R75 has 50 or so and the K bike just turned 80. These bike can be abused and neglected, but respond so well to thrashing on the street, track or dirt. The R50 will be done next time I'm home! I finaly collected all I need . Its a true "bitsa" bare bones Caferacer.

Rebuilt R80g/s Adventure bike
Attached is a pic of my work in progress. Paul Rooney in Australia has been a big help in pointing me in the right direction and I am very happy with what I have so far. The suspension feels so good, very supple on the road and the bike is a lot of fun on gravel roads.

This is a pic of the left side, just modified the exhaust, it is probably a little loud, sounds like a racing Triumph!

Planning that trip, again

Alistair,
Nice work, the bike looks very nice. What has Paul done for you? What front end is that? I like the simple front thumbnail and original instrument set up.

Thank's Mick,
Paul supplied the swing arm extension, frame bracing parts, twin plug coils and lots of good advice on the best way to go. The front forks are Husky 410 with modified internals, the tripple clamps were made by a very good local engineer with a cnc mill in his basement.

I'll jump in with mine.
Just finished putting a new front end on it this week. She's now running a trick WR450 front end with real brakes.

If its not in motion, then a sidestand shot shows the pitch and yaw better than the centerstand shots. man thats hot. So what I want to know here is: what is the thing at the rear that goes between the shock mount and former brake mount? A guard to prevent brush and sticks from fragging the brake lever?
