Hmm, a very quick search on advrider and google tells me this KTM IMS is an interesting tank. 7 Gallons is about 26.5 litres, so simular to stock, but looks better in terms of height of the weight.
Tell us Pacer, how's the fit???

Hey, where's the dirt you're gonna take off to find a bike??? Good looking bike, you'll enjoy it a lot!
But what's up with the McGuyvertape on the tank? And nice carriers over the cylinders, perfect to get your kettle boiling on the last 10miles to the campsite ![]() ![]()

TARider is correct, it is indeed a Jim Rawley built bike of which I know only a little of its history. I have corresponded with Jim a couple of times just to verify some details and history. He verified its origins and was glad to know of its continued life. I acquired the bike in February of this year, have breathed new life into it and am just about finished with its reconstruction. On to the good stuff: It is made up of a 1974 R90/6 frame with 1984 R100 running gear. (big valves, big carbs (40mm Bings) big exhaust) a very good 3.36 (37/11) final drive and matching rear wheel from Snoop's project bike for the off road work and a well used 2.9? rear if you feel like ripping down the highway. More to come... Pacer screwed with this post 06-28-2008 at 04:46 PM |

As far as adaptability, any "saddle style" tank with a deep relief for the bikes frame or spine would be a good candidate to mount on your Airhead project. YMMV but try what you got. I will get some detail shots of how Jim made the adaptation. |

Eh-hem, back to the tech: Yes, the swing arm is dual sided and has twin WP shocks. It has been lengthened three inches and recessed for the new tire position. Jim left the driveshaft alone and lengthened the bell to accommodate the extra distance. This was done so that if for what ever reason the driveshaft broke or needed replacing it could be done so with factory parts. The double sided swing arm is a very good choice for this type of conversion as it is strong, and there are many rear end gear choices and spares...
