Anybody recognize this bike? It's in northern California?

Know anything about it?

Yup,
It's owned by a NorCal Airhead...
and is for sale.
Modified R90/6.
Cheers,
S.

And... it's sold.
Nice rig, and congrats to the new owner (wish I saw the email yesterday).

Not any more. :-)

It's mine now! Just trying to learn more about its history. Clay didn't build it.

Custom wiring harness with junction box where battery used to be in a pelican case. Shorai Lithium battery under transmission. 2.2 lbs! The center stand has an aluminum bash guard on it so when it's up it protects the battery. Supertrapp mufflers give it more breathing and only a little more noise. Mainly back pressure noise upon deceleration. I can't afford a r80gs. I once had an 88 r100gs. Don't want an oilhead. So I created my own gs. I like it."

Just wanted to add that the frame is fully gusseted, and it's dual plugged.

Wow. Sounds a lot like the bike I just bought. R90/6; lengthened swingarm; XR600 forks; Acerbis headlight rig; electronics in a circuit box (behind the headlight);...

More details and pics to come when I get it home later this week.

Yeah, right down to the white paint. I'll try to get more picks of my friend's creation next time we meet.

I found out my new bike had the key mods done by Richard Bosse in Texas. Part of the "Lost Boys" gang with Chris King, etc.

Pretty cool. They know what they're doing. This bike handles amazingly well. I was pleasantly surprised.

Can anybody ID that front end? CR500 or XR600...? I need a new brake rotor and maybe a backup wheel...

If it`s anything to go by, the bike looks `right`, which is more than can be said for other specials we see.

Well, I am just tickled pink to have ended up with this bike. There is no way I could have built this. Everything works like it's supposed to. It's not just a style treatment.

Nice bike.
But, and maybe it's just me, those modern aftermarket headlights like that Acerbis somehow seem out of place and disproportionally small in these oldskool bikes. I'd gldaly see something more of a retro look on the headlight area as well - maybe a good spot to personalize & make your own mods..?

(I know it already, hanging around in these airhead dirtbike threads is not a good omen for yours truly. I see so many project ideas, I'm beginnig to feel dizzy.)

I think the same thing. It doesn't have to look like an overgrown dirt bike in order to function properly. I have a Baja Designs 8" spot that I'm going to put on it instead of the Acerbis headlight. I'm tempted to find a generic 8" bucket light and try that. Also going to figure out a 70's look to the side covers and fenders. Going more in the "desert sled" direction...

Leaving it functionally the same, but see if I can dress it up to look it's age. It's got that "50-year old woman trying to dress like a teenager..." vibe. And I see way too many of those women around my town.
