You put a muffler on that thing yet? Just wondered if it helps much. Went for a ride today. Got about 45 miles on her so far. The engine is a great tractor but I am wanting more pull up top.

Still the stock exhaust.

The Akro looks nice but man that's a lot of $s

Keep the stock can with it's mounting which is supposed to be more stout, and get a straight through core. Then combine that with a 'competition' map and maybe some tweaks of the injector and the airbox. You should get more top side.

Personally, I like it the way it is. If I were to ride in the open, sand, snow, then more up top would be desirable, but I don't, so I like it the way it is.

I took the seat off of mine. After one look at the mess. I put the seat back on and went riding. At 50hrs. The cam chain is a little louder than I expected. I could really notice the difference when I ran the 570 a long side the 390. The 390 only has an hour or two on it.

They really are great bikes.

That's how I am with Tami's "high tech" WRR. I hope I never have to actually work on that thing.

Tahoeacr, I hear Pingle has a Nitrous kit for your FE, now that you've got yours fully instrumented I hear it snowing pretty hard around your place...

try Dirt Tricks cam chain tensioner

I've got one on the shelf. Just waiting to see how noisy it gets before I put it in.

Beautiful bike, Scot.

Congratulations on the weight thing too, that's my goal this year as well - to get in better shape and lose about 30lbs, 40 if I can manage the last 10.

For me it started getting really hard to lose after about 35lbs. I'm at ~47 lost right now and instead of 7lbs a week I'm looking at 2lbs a week.

Maybe I should start exercising? Nah

I lost 28 lbs a few years ago, and plateau'd off - it got damn tough to lose another 5lbs, and I was going steady at about 2lbs / week.
With an XR628, weight of the rider doesn't seem like such a big deal
