V-Strom ride turns into a history lesson
The first day of Spring here in Cincinnati was gorgeous, so I decided to ride the V-Strom down to the Ohio River and its scenic byway. When I got to Ripley, Ohio, my ride turned into a history lesson for the Underground Railroad.
It was a gorgeous day for a ride. Brent

Thanks for the feedback. I see more of these in the future ... along with my article writing.

A couple of folks have asked me about the camera I used to shoot the video. This was shot with a Flip Ultra HD video camera--very simple operation, and the FlipShare software is almost too easy to use. Because of the fully automated operation of camera and software, you have little control like with other cameras and software. But, for what it does, it's an incredible camera. I have also processed clips with Adobe Premiere Elements giving more control to produce. I have also used Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro with the clips.
Why a Flip? I am a member of National Press Photographers Association and Society for Professional Journalists. The editorial trend is to shoot video to gather news and info. The video can be used online, and stories can be written for print as well as grabbing a frame for print production. Newspapers are handing the Flip out to print journalists for news gathering, and I've seen some very impressive pieces done with the Flip. If you understand its limitations, its a very impressive little video camera for telling stories, AND it fits in your shirt pocket. I bought the Flip at Amazon.com for $149. MSRP is $199. http://www.theflip.com/en-us/. Brent
