what's it like riding...... ON THE MOON?

Thats awesome that you know that you are becoming a better rider all the time - riding stuff like that WILL make you a better rider.... or it'll kill you.....

and YES we would like to see some video! make a 5 minute movie for us!

I have to admit im jealous that you are progressing much faster than I am. However, I am also very VERY excited to watch you race in this upcoming rally!!

you're going to do great!!!

Sheesh, you make me sound like a rockstar but the reality of it is that Im no different from you, apart from that fact that youre definitely faster looking at your video!

I think I have enough footage to put together two 10 minute vids.

Lemme get to it because I don't feel like working right now...

I think I see gold, silver, and lead in the rocks on those hills. Seems to me your rides are really mineral scouting trips. So your bike should be a business expense, and your rides should be done on company time! Just pick up a stone or two and bring it back to the office as proof you're doing real work out there.

So true. I see the rocks really up close at times too! In fact, I often buy it (the ground) from time to time.

Time for some video.

The first one is a condensed version of about half my weekend training route to where I meet with the enduro guys to go off with them. So I get up early to meet them at 9 and I have to ride this back when I'm pumped at the end of the day. For your viewing amusement, I have arranged a couple of off's at my expense. Nothing too serious, I need to take it easy out there on my own.

The second video is perhaps more interesting and is the first part of our ride from sea level up to 1,000m (3,100" for the yanks). In this video we get up to around 300m and I thought it was reasonably extreme, perhaps for the rest of you its only challenging:

But you'll have to wait until next time for the final episode, which I thought was really quite hectic.

Too bad the second video was scrubbed by face-tube. Love your videos and stories Neil. If I rode half as well as you I'd be happy. Good luck.

I see a lot of people posting in Vimeo (just checked, it's $60 a year for HD. You'd be better off with Smugmug, as you can pile your pictures in there too), but I know nothing about it. I have a Smugmug account. It costs, but I think it's worth it.

edit again, Shit Neil, you already have a SM gallery! Upgrade, and host your vids in the same place.

the only problem with SmugMug for video is that you can only upload up to 10 minutes in length. That's why I went to VIMEO for my videos now.

Hey Neil, did you see that your first video was blocked due to copyright infringement? You need to make a new edit...

This thread is a bit quiet, so I thought I'd post a photo of Neil's bike after a shake-down ride near our shop. Not done, but mostly:

fun fun
