Yaaaayyyy!
![]() First ride of '011! Carbys were weepy, but seemed OK with the new gasket sets. Right header was noticeable with a little noisyness...maybe it was the crossover connection? Started on first kick after 4 months of nuttin!

Gertie, behind the mask!
Currently, my second bike... I just could not resist... a 750
"Honey, would you mind if I bought another kinda rare bike?" "What??" How about the last of the 750's produced in 1977. About 1500 were imported and about 5500 were produced mostly as "authorities units". The answer, "Why???", I want to restore another?? "Whatever""... good I say and my son finds this 75/7 in Denver. He bought it for me and I drove it back to Ketchikan in the fall of 2010. Put it in the basement and worked on it all winter. As I discover later.. I was lucky to make it back with out a break down.. a number of systems were on the edge... the bike never let me down.. It was a bit hard starting at times.. but it got me home. Like the author of this thread sayss. ignorance is a good defence to motorcycle happyness. So, I just pressed on and nothing broke. I picked up a Krauser Fairing and stripped the bike down to her bones.. engine was good and looked like it was recently redone.. engine out and engine in, rebuilt the tranny. I rebuilt the forks, sent out the tranny and new bearings and seals were done. Replaced the electics with a thunder child, new points, condenser, new generator brushes,, and rebuilt the stater and crankcase vent system. New coils, relays, electronic voltage regular and cleaned and repaired the wiring harness. I repainted the frame and replaced the wheels. There was cracking on the rim to spokes in three places on the back wheel. Rebuilt the brakes, added a voltmeter and clock. I added a new agm battery. I did dumped the bings in favor of 32mm Mikuni Carbs. They are perfect.. starts fast, every time and is a good runner.. has never skipped a beat. No regrets on an changes here. I added white grandturismo grips..( the airhead guys thought they looked funky) I like them. I put it all together and did a ride to Hyder Alaska as a test brake in ride in July. Mostly all went well... there were no major catastrophies. I took Gertie back to Denver this last October and it is my ride when I visit with my son.. He is a Buell guy. So Gertie rests and wait for my visits. In April we are going to do a Lee Parks Total Control low speed class for a day. I have a oil temp gage and new paint job coming for the old girl.. White Pearl with red and silver pinstripes, and fitment of the belly pan. I am planning to install solid state ignition.. a Dyna System. So this is the girl behind the mask. A sweet ride, but not a almost /2 I have to keep them separate... I only have a one car garage. This it Gertie, R75/7 Miles unknown and doesn't matter.

I've really enjoyed this thread and I'd like to make a contribution. Here is a slideshow I made while rebuilding my /2 motor.

Nice rebuild show.. very informative and innovative.
I particularly like the tranny mating sequence. ![]() I took some time to button down the Denfelt solo saddle.. It raise the sitting position by about an inch or more. Its ok.. my legs are short and I just notice these things.. Battery is in and all ok.. all I need to do is add gas. Will savor the moment.. maybe next weekend. Got a couple of pressing projects,,, work you know. Lists to complete. How about a Boxer, Sugar Rae, on a boxer almost/2.

Thanks Danedg. I think making the video was harder than rebuilding the engine. And definitely not as much fun.
