Ethanol question...

I was reading your ride report and I can't get good old dino juice here in Virginia. Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to keep my bings alive? I just got her running again, I don't want to ruin it!

Somewhere I have seen ethanol proof floats advertised. I'd check with Vech at Benchmarkworks.com. He was always helpful to me.

I went back through the pictures when my dad rebuilt the motor for me and my 65 R50 didn't have those marks. Sorry no help here.

We run %10 Ethanol here. I haven't noticed any problems related to the corn syrup. Jezebel just sat for 4 months, and started on the first kick. I use no additives to the gasoline. I use the highest octane available as it ignites at a lower temp. I hear stories about the alcohol attacking plastic bits, but the only plastic on this bike are the saddlebags. My floats are still brass. Benchmark Works offered some plastic replacement floats a while back but they didn't work out. Better check with him, to see if they've solved the problem.
I believe your bike should run just fine on modern gas. They run better if you ride 'em every day. It's a low compression, low rpm, tractor with two wheels. Just change the oil a lot, and she'll putt along just fine for a long time.

There is the ability to move the mounting base to the last set of holes in the plate between the tubes ahead of the battery box and to move the seat attachment to the last ... back attachments to the seat frame.. this is the lowest setting allowed by the design.

Hey Jim,

I think some work can be done to the seat bracket to make it lower. I believe mine was modified prior to purchase by me. Either that, or it's a custom bracket. I can post a pic later if you'd like some ideas.

What is the increase in lumens, when one changes from a 6V 35w Incandescent bulb,




To the new and superimproved, 6V 35W HALOGEN bulb????
