The stock 12V generator is nice when doing a period resto, but after that its technical merit drops out. They chomp brushes (four/stator!), mechanical regulator, meager 100W, etc.... Carl Carl screwed with this post 01-24-2012 at 12:42 PM |

Dan,
It has a battery: post 1156....... But it will still run w/out a battery as it uses the stock mag design for its ignition. Carl |

Engine: no battery needed for engine to run. It uses a magneto for spark to run the engine. Generator: does not need a battery for voltage output but you need a battery to store the output. Otherwise, why bother? Alternator: needs a battery for voltage output and storage of output.

6 volt LED's
Eurotech's final clearance shows 6 volt LED's still for sale. Stop/tail led, red generator led, green nuetral led, amber turn signal led, white parking led, and white instrument led. I thought I would share with the group. http://www.eurotechmotorsports.com/f...subsearch=true

I think Eurotech is dead for reals now...
I tried getting some 12v LED bulbs from them during the initial fire-sale and missed out. But it inspired me to hunt for similar alternatives. I think I found the exact bulbs they used to sell from superbrightleds.com. They have some 6v stuff here: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...lbs.htm%23ba15 If you find something that works in your 6v system, I would love for you to update my Airhead LED pr0n page with that info. I'm trying to gather as many details about as many BMW models as I can in that thread. THX!

Yeah, the impression I get from SBLEDs is that they do NOT want to talk to you on the phone - even if you have a return question. They are geared toward online ordering only.
I think the issue is that they do not want to become involved in questions like "will this bulb work in bike XYZ?" I can understand that. They want you to do the legwork to find the proper bulb, then order it. Which, I must say, I can't fault them for. Find a 6v bulb, match up some measurements according to what they provide on the website, and click ORDER. I've been really pleased with the quality of bulbs they offer, and they may have the best options available for 6v applications, although the pickings are slim even here.

The bike was fitted with Works Performance shocks all around, when I got it.
![]() I sent the fronts back to Works, sayin' rebuild 'em, or lemme know if they're dead..... Spoke with them yesterday... yes we're going to/can refurbish these......but, if you don't mind me asking?... How many miles are on the bike? only 76,000....I'm the 4th owner...need the serial number??? ![]() The other question was, how much do you weigh....??? ![]() They should be returning from sunny CA in a week or two...
