Anyone out there from NJ or close by want to ride this route with me in the next couple months...mostly interested in Day 3 where it goes through the national forest, so I'm game for running the highway to save time. or ride the whole thing from frenchtown NJ.....just dont like going on long rides alone.

I just updated the zip file on my site. It now includes a short alternate track on day 2. This alternate track starts and finishes into the section I rode.
this track will take you across Babb Creek as in this thread.

Rob, I swear I've tried it on my own...and have searched google, but have had no luck. How do I get the gpx file onto my Zumo?

I do have mapsource. So I just click on the link, let it open, and then transfer it? Is there some sort of transfer command under a drop down somewhere?

> Right click on the link
> Save Target As
> Download Gps file to your Desktop
> Open Map Source
> In Map Source
> File Open
> select Desktop
> File Name: TPAT_v1.gpx
> File Type Drop Down Select "GPS eXchange"
> now the file will open
> Plug your Gps into your Computer and turn it on
> select the Transfer menu
> Send to Device
> check "Tracks, Waypoints, Routes"
> Click Ok
> The data will now download to your Gps

Send me an email to: rob23 at GpsRouteBuilder dot com and I'll send you a nice Gps 101 doc.

Thanks Rob, email sent for the document. Thanks for the help. Wife and I have a handful of Garmins...hers for running/cycling....mine for everything else. This will come in handy.

We're former NJ residents that just moved to PA last year, so I'm looking for good roads...both twisty and dirty.

Towpro,

Thanks so much for putting this together! I know it has to be a lot of work.

Just downloaded the gpx file. Can't wait to try out the route.

Were not done yet folks.

Still have to work out the route from Emporium to the start of MD/WV trail.

I still have to ride the section that starts in Hancock NY.
and I will want to put another (optional) loop in at Quiet Oaks campground that gives you the option to leave your gear at the campground for the day and ride a lighter bike.

Rob, I tried to pull the GPX file that you linked to, but google earth wasn't able to open it. Is there something going on with the link/file, or is my Google Earth the problem?

I been regrouping also. Bought a New F800gs a month or 2 ago, just been setting it up and breaking it in. I ride all winter, but Trans PA Trail will wait until it gets warmer again.

We have most of the western side laid out, plus I have some info from Michaux state forest to finish the western side of the loop.

I (or someone) needs to test ride that section I gave MoBill from Hancock NY into the current route.

Then I got some adjustments to make in central PA

But my riding buddies are ready!

Winter is coming which gives me some down time to get my routes together again. Spring will be here before we know it :)
And next year brings another bunch of vacation days.

Thanks for all your hard work on this project towpro. Sucks I didn't get a chance to test ride that other section, but like you said spring will be here before we know it. I'll def be up for a few sections then. Hell we should get a group together and ride the entire route when it's finished.
