Gotta admit, we're partly to blame for Sunday's forecast.

We are doing the Ray Price "Rides of March" and had planned to ride to the Carolina's Aviation Museum in Charlotte on Sunday to get 300 bonus miles.

Anyone need a stitch suit?

http://www.aerostich.com/popupnc

Going to be somewhere on Glennwood for a few days..
Maybe they will be in the former Fat Daddy's.... :(
Coopers moving, Fat Daddy's closing, at least Sadlack's re opened...

I haven't even been in Raleigh that long, and I feel like too many old places are closing..

I would never pay their prices, but I'd be curious to know what size fits me best in case I found a nice deal on a used on. Their suits don't impress me at their pricepoint.

Pleasant Valley shopping center. Across the street from the future former Fat Daddy's.

For what is worth, I have a one piece roadcrafter for almost 10 years now. It has seen many miles / countries and it's no longer waterproof around main zipper / chest and down. So I carry a rain jacket. Zippers are it's weakest point because of leaks, and at rare times, if worn out, they break when least expected, of course. I still use it for it's convenient quick way to get in/out when going out for a quick ride and still have full protection. Also good for winter and up to 80 F temps. One thing, they will custom size your fit on new or old suits (to an extent). They also repair these.

Champagne taste on a beer budget

Aerostitch Roadcrafters are worth every penny...i know many people who own them and use them religously...sometimes you really do get what you pay for...and yhis is one of those times...Being on the beer budget i get by with all Olympia gear...I just replaced my 8 year old Airglide mesh jacket last year..my heavier AST jacket and my Olympia Ranger2 pants are still being used at 8 yrs and going....I do need a new pair of boots tho...

Maybe I deserve some blame too. I'm headed to ride the horse trail adjacent to the Iron Mtn trails in outside of Damascus. Sunday is the last day the horse trails are open for the next 6 months. Rain on Fri & Sat with Snow on Sunday. It's gonna be sloppy.

another iffy weekend for this mon thru fri working class/ weekend rider. No epic crosscountry riding on my calendar until retirement. I'm lucky when I can get an hr or two ride in.
How did this happen?

I've looked into the Aerostitch suits. I've read hundreds of reviews. people love them, people hate them. I was seriously considering buying a one piece suit so I could just step in with regular clothes on, and go riding or to commute to work. I think the convenience of stepping out of a one piece at work would be great. But the more I looked and read, the more I leaned towards an Olympia. And I don't own a BMW!

Bought a used Aerostich a while back. Paid $400 for it. Now I wonder why the hell I just didn't order a custom one years ago. It is the only piece of gear I wear now, minus one jacker I wear on the hacks when I'm just around town. It really is the do-it-all suit.

I said this in another thread but I think there stuff looks good the few times I've seen someone wearing it but not on their website. Gonna have to go check some out in person. There is a Darien jacket on the flea market for $225. Tempting.
