Welcome to opening day

TTOR Tag #6

Since yesterday was the 1st day of the boys of summer, and in tribute to my 13yo hitting having a great season: hit his 1st middle school HR (330' over left/center field fence ) and pitched his 1st winning complete game (against the cross town rivals grrr -- the Ravens ).

Hints if you need them:
  • Although you can go to camps in Peoria AZ, and Palm Beach or Ft Myers FL, this is really the only place for in the world to train up to this level.
  • Sometimes known as NTC.

Watch out for the pollen attack and play ball.

Didn't Jimi sing a song about "yellow haze"?

Every year, I'm amazed at the yellow dust and clouds of pollen that hang around in the air. Not to mention the 1/4" of it on my truck. Poor truck gets parked outside while the bike gets to enjoy the garage!

I've lived in TN or NC (except a short stint in Saudi Arabia and Iraq) and I've seen lots of spring pollen, but this has to be one of the worst. Don't know that Hendrix tune, but how about the Beatles "Yellow Northcaroline" 'cause we're all stuck in it.

Great ride, a little warm, somebody needs to gotted this.

Headed to the beach for a couple days in the cage with the family, so the tags are safe from me. Enjoy...

I've got a bunch of cage errands to run, or I'd go after it. Never seen tha fancy baseball place!

And I've been in NC all my life, and this might be the most pollen I've ever seen! If I look down the road a ways, the sky actually turns green in the distance!

Yeah I am waiting for the day Rugby calls me from jail!

My ride today nearly had me calling the beemer the USS GS Adventure... Wanted to try a river crossing and ended up in a river so deep the bow wave was up my windsheild... I was told it was only about a foot deep... Apparently it was about 2.5... Found out my boots are water proof!

You CAN sometimes cross there at the canoe ramp....depends on how much water is being let out of the dam. I've seen it about 1ft deep all the way across, and I've seen it looking like the North Shore of Hawaii! I ain't riding a bike across it either way though. I prefer boats for water, and bikes for dirt roads!

Well I figured if I am going to ride South America practice at river crossing is a good idea. The water at the canoe ramp is about 2.5 feet right now and there is a dip to a bit deeper as well... Either way very deep and I got very wet for a first try. Wish I had planned it to have someone there to take a pic!
