Tag 776
Tag 776 - very close to the last tag. Think I saw a sign saying this park closes at 9. If you're night tagging, get a picture of the entrance sign, but make sure it's the right entrance.

Come on, folks. It's barely in the triple digits. LET'S RIDE!
Sitting in the house waiting for you all to grab tags sucks. ![]() Going riding. See ya.

What he said. I just got done with around 200 miles. The weather if fantastic. I decided to use non-motorcycle oil in the DR at the last oil change. First time I've ever put oil in a bike that wasn't made for bikes. Decided to try Rotella T6 super high temp oil. TOTALLY happy I did. The DR is running better in this heat than any bike I've ever owned. It's eating it up. Never thought an air-cooled thumper would like triple digits so much.
Oh...Lonewolf and Easy...send me a PM...found new ride worthy dirt very close to Raleigh...single track and double track, several miles worth...and NO muddy river bank riding involved. Thought I got a video of some of it but apparently I forgot to hit the record button. |

Speaking of DR's, I need one. Mama says I can't get a DR until the Honda is sold though. Boooooo!
So, I'll piss off the mods and give a shameless plug. My '73 CB750 is on consignment at Hotrodz in Fayettville. And yes, the mileage is correct for the engine. The engine came out of a bike that the owner wrecked the day he bought it. Scared him so bad the bike sat unrepaired in his garage for decades until a friend told me about it when I was engine shopping. PM me if you are interested. There is some wiggle room on the pricing as determined by the dealership. ![]() http://www.brittmotorsports.com/defa...&d=A&i=&l=&t=U

That's a great looking CB. The boss in the house won't let me buy another bike right now but I've always liked cafe racers.
DR is awesome! Great bike.Bone stock they are OK. However with some mods they really come into their own. I swear mine has more power, better handling, and more manageable street and off-road manners than that piece of crap BMW F800 that cost me close to 20 grand with farkles. It'll certainly go faster than the F800 and handles the highway better, gets 10+ mpg better gas mileage and at highway speeds it gets 20 mpg better than the F800. And it hands down is a better off-road and dual sporting bike than the F800 could have ever been. The only thing the F800 had over the DR is acceleration out of the gate. F8 could fly to 60 in no time with the front wheel skimming the ground (it was a street bike). DR can't. But DR has more high end power and acceleration than the F800 (and more low end power at trail speeds)...the DR has the gearing that the F800 should have had if anyone at BMW was paying attention when they engineered the bike. DR is a great bike. You should definitely get one. |

Thanks! I definitely want a DR. I thought I wanted one for a while, but never really found one around here to look at. One popped up used at Sandhills Cycle Center and I spent about an hour looking at it last weekend. It was much more comfortable than I had imagined, and I love the simplicity of the machine. I'm a five motorcycle house right now, and I can't keep any more around than that. So something has to go.

rotella is actually JASO certified, so it's a good one for motorcycles. It's all I use - when I had a diesel, in the truck, in all the motorcycles. I use the normal, not the synthetic, but both are good.
no friction modifiers, so it won't slip a wet clutch.

Sitting in traffic on super hot days scared me on the dr. But, there isn't a median that doesn't like a dr. so not really an issue. ;)

Anything with the JASO MA2 spec is good for bikes. Most oils formulated for diesel engines carry this spec. Just got done with ~150-200 miles:
