Remember when Lucas electronics were the benchmark for the probability of having to get towed home?

I like Hardleys enough. Just like I like KTMS enough. As long as you keep them in the garage and change the oil after every trip to the coffee shop they do you fine.

I would have piped up earlier but I just got home from the NC/SC border just north of Myrtle Beach on my DR which never breaks down, even on thousand mile days in heat above 90.

Forgoeing any further ribbing, if you need anything Kent, transport etc, let me know. I'm still in the Triangle and right down the street from you so it's no problem for me to lend you a bike or a car or a trailer or a hammer or whatever.

Ride Aid!

Kent, glad to know you got home OK. This seems like a prudent time to post this in this thread too.

DEPARKER, a fellow inmate over on the NCNC ToR game had the great idea of putting together a spreadsheet of NC inmates who would be willing to help a rider in need. He's already started it up, and wanted to extend it beyond the boundaries of their game.

It's nothing formal. Just who you are, your phone number, what city you're in, and pertinent information like if you have a trailer, truck, or tools available. It's non-committal. Nobody is saying you have to respond if someone calls you in the middle of your anniversary dinner. Just a little something that we can keep on our smartphones for those times you find yourself stranded and need a hand.

David is collecting the information. See original post below, and shoot him a PM if you want in on it.

I would be glad to collect data and distribute it via message to people that wanted to participate. Any thoughts?
Example: Bubba LaRue
Phone: xxx-xxx-xxxx
City: Clemmons, NC
Restrictions: Don' t call between 12-7 AM

Thanks guys for all the support.
RD. I'll put my name on that list. I have a truck and trailer and like all of us on ADV am willing to help a rider in need if I can.
I am blessed to have such friends.
I also lucky.
I rode the Harley east to Oriental Fri after work to place a tag.
camped on river well off any roads and rode home sat morning with no problems. It would have been much worse if my breakdown had been Fri nite/ sat morn.
Bike starts normal. Runs 3 or 4 seconds and shuts down.
It will start right back up and shut right back down.
Pretty sure it isnt fuel flow related. My gut says computer.
My wife is a real trooper and was going to hook up my trailer to my truck and come get me but she has never had to before.
Easy took care of it. Made it look easy too.
I thought about calling you Chad but pittsboro to my place and back home for you would have been a haul. I also know you would have done it in a skinny minute. As would all you guys.
Thankyou. Kent.

OT: an All Wheel Drive Dual Sport that is rear cargo rack and side bag capable and has larger aux tank option.

I'm more than intrigued.

wow thats a neat bike but at $7000 for the kickstart bike...no thanks...ofc its all relative to the type of riding you do...for me this is way beyond what I'd need...at this point i'd be happy with a TW200.
Still the technology involved is very interesting. At first glance you dont see anything that drives the front wheel that is obvious like the chain on the rear wheel. but it looks like they created a reall cool DS ride...

Front wheel is driven by hydraulics on Christinis.
