Calamity Janes.

It was 4:30am, I carefully reviewed the radar. Chances of rain are 60%, however no major green, yellow or red on the weather app. 40 minutes away via Glenwood Ave, 440 & 40. I figure I can rub out a ride without getting wet.
I head out. Glenwood Ave south, success, no rain. I can see the sliver of the moon and some menacing clouds. 440 East, had more traffic than I expect this damn early. Then the signs appear "Flash Flood warnings", and the finally Poole Road. My motorcycle gods were battling the weather gods. They were finally beat at Poole Road. It started to rain.
I can handle some rain. I can handle riding in the dark. I can handle riding in minor traffic. I can handle riding on big asphalt. I just don't like all of the above at the same time.
So, with my tail between my legs, I forfeit.
Calamity Jane is one challenging chick.

You've done better than I. I haven't gotten beyond the staring at the animated radar images.

Well I spoke too soon abt the rain...on tje way down to the Clayton tag I stopped at the flowers store to put the top half of my rain gear on...as soon as I left there I got a bit of a sprinkle for maybe 2 miles...but on the way back I got caught in a solid rain all the way back to Zebulon...amazingly I'm not that wet and I didn't melt...:

Slight Hijack

Happy Independence Day!

To all of you who have or who are serving in the armed forces, Thank You!

I had the good fortune to visit one of our great memorials today. A great reminder of the price that continues to be paid for our independence.

dunno if Zebulon will have an Independance Day Parade but if they do the tag wont be accessable for a few hrs...not sure but most towns have a parade...so either early a.m. or later in the day...be careful out there...it is a holiday and i'm sure some idiots will be drinking and driving...
Happy Birthday America !!!
