RD. I'm sorry to hear about the In-laws Harley. Harleys have an engine flaw that is well known. The timing chain guides wear out and can send metal into the oil pump causing catastrophic failure. Biker Barn upgraded mine at 39,000 miles.
Did a little cam upgrade too. Makes my 900 lb bike fun to ride again.
The Dealers are independently owned and service varies from good to bad.
Most will put a high priority on someone broke down on the road.
Does this mean the In-laws will be staying with you a couple weeks longer?

Cape Fear called today with bad news. The piston on the front cylinder was rammed into the spark plug. They didn't get any further than that before they called.

The mother-in-law has been car shopping for about the past two months, but now they are accelerating the process. They are looking to buy something by Saturday and tow the Harley back home. The good thing is that we've got a trailer of theirs at the house anyway, so that part is taken care of.

Anybody know of a great deal on a Traverse?

Heister in Lillington usually has some good deals. Give them a call. Sorry about your in laws bike. :( Glad they have a son in law with a trailer.

You got this via Crapatalk

New Tag

I thought about heading for Pittsboro but figured that would tick off Bruce.

I thought about tagging a storage place but figured that would tick off Mike.

I thought about heading for Wake Forest but PinkMoose said there have been too many tags up that way and I REALLY didn't want to tick her off.

Okay, I didn't really even think about Wake Forest!

Ended up at Massengill Mill Pond.

Enjoy the weekend!

Nothing in Hillsborough. Not always a best deal but we and others we know have done OK at car max.

an advert that I hadn't seen mentioned

NCS

The Bull City Rumble is a world-renowned vintage motorcycle and scooter rally hosted by Ton Up NC annually on Labor Day Weekend in Durham, NC. Thematically, the event has its roots in the traditional rivalry of Mods vs. Rockers, the sensationalized clash of two subcultures, scooter riding mods and motorcycle riding rockers, in 1960’s England. The event has evolved from its humble beginnings in a parking lot in 2005 to a multi-venue, multi-day rally drawing thousands of enthusiasts from all over the world.

On Labor Day weekend: Saturday, August 30, 31 and September 1 2013; downtown Durham will again be filled with the sights and sounds of vintage scooters, motorcycles and enthusiasts from all four corners of the globe. The historic Lucky Strike Tobacco Warehouses serve as the backdrop for the annual bike show where judges aren’t necessarily looking for the prettiest and cleanest machines. They are looking for well ridden bikes with personality and craftsmanship.

Looks like we just might have found something.

I hope this deal pans out. I'm supposed to be studying for my CCNA this weekend.

Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...

Honda Techies?

Just got myself another Honda...this one's a cage 1999 Honda Civic...lots of updated parts like new timing belt, water pump, exhaust and new tires...but still has some issues to work out...does anyone here work on these or have a reccommendation on whom to bring this to? car has 173000+ miles and gets 35 mpgs' on the hwy...sold my Volvo to downsize as the 4000 lbs beast was getting less than 20 mpgs' Comfort wise its a big step down but overall I can make it work...this car only weighs 2560 lbs...
