Nah, you need to go the southern route.

Take the back roads to Clayton. Cross 70 on 42 then turn left on Barber Mill Rd and right on Cleveland Rd then left on 42. Follow that almost to Fuquay and turn right on Hilltop which becomes Hilltop-Needmore when you cross 401 and becomes Bass Lake Rd as you cross Sunset Lake Rd. Turn left on Holly Springs rd and cross 55 (a bit tricky here). It becomes Holly Springs New Hill Rd. Follow to the end and take a left on Friendship rd and a right on New Hill Holleman rd and follow that until you cross 64 where it becomes 751. Turn left on Horton Pond Rd and right on Farrington rd which will take you to Chapel Hill. Good to great roads all the way! Takes longer but it's a fun ride.

wow that is a ride indeed...its already a ride if i were usuing the main roads...you have to figure the competiton and their motivation...and as soon as someone says they are going after a tag...they alomost always get bruced...so i aint sayin i will go for it but i will at least look at the route you suggest,,,Thanks

You should have stopped by and had a beer with me.

It was 21 yesterday when I left for work. MrsDonkeys got me Gerbings heated gloves and I just had to try them out. Turns out I installed my Fuzeblock with a 10a fuse for the pants and jacket liners only. I plugged in the gloves, and turned it all on when I hit the end of my street. I heard a nice pop, then realized I was not getting any warmer. Woops! Since I was already running late, I just sucked it up.

I just fixed that problem in time for the nice warm riding day we've got. Looks like I'll spend the day doing some electrical work around the house.

Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...

You save the beer for the cold rainy evenings at RDV's?

Nice grab Forrest I couldnt bring my self to ride that far today...but I did ride up to Butner...had to stop at the BBQ Barn...I thought i was going to be disappointed because when I pulled into the parking lot the place was dead...thought they were closed...but no its 3 pm and not exaclty peak dining...good no crowds or wait....The Pink Pig has never disappointed me...they have the best fresh hush puppies out there...they are odd sizes and big but no matter the sizes or shape they are all light and crispy and sweet...even brought a plate home to split with my bro'...

I rode behind someone on a vstrom 1000 past the creamery tag earlier. Them I rode to saxaphaw. Got home and checked this thread saw I had damn near ride right past the yellow dog. Put on my gear and took off before it got any colder. Anyone on here ride a silver dl1000 and a red helmet?

I couldn't bring myself to ride to Chapel Hill, so I went for the Eastern tag in Clayton. I'd love to grab the NC tag though...but not likely to happen, as it's supposed to train tomorrow.
