Weather will be spotty through the weekend. Doesn't bother me to ride in the rain/mud. We can wait till Saturday evening to formulate a plan.

BHW; I will message you my cell. Give me a call Saturday and let me know where and what time to show up Sunday. Need to be back home by noon at the latest. I have family in town and my kids have a function Sunday afternoon. I can go early and ride for a bit then split.

Forecast says spotty showers all weekend. Might rain, might not. Anybody got a good lead on a bunch of fireroads?

I've got some more work to do on my XR to get it in shape but I'll keep up with the thread in case anyone is gonna do Uwharrie in the near future.

Same goes for anything close to Raleigh.

Looking for a fun, easy ride, not hero stuff. Translation: I'm a dork on a dirt bike.

what it looks like right now:

I'm WAY too short for this bike, so I figure I'll provide some comedy. My skills suck anyway, so I may as well put on a clown suit, too.

That's some extreme modifications just to lower the seat height!

Keep us informed if anyone goes to URE. I'd like to check it out...at a sane pace.

If URE wasn't two hours one way from me I'd be up for it tomorrow. I won't have time. I'm certainly game for some rides out there in the future.

I don't know of any decent places off road. Just a few short trails here and there, some gravel roads and a few short stretches of power lines.

Busco is an hour away. Might not be too bad with the ATV's early Sunday morning. Ten bucks to ride or something like that. Moderate trails/fireroads.

I'll check back shortly to see if anyone makes a suggestion. Otherwise I'll just go ride somewhere. Thought about taking the fishing gear on the bike and catching some fish at Harris or Jordan.

Too much rain for me to even worry about riding tomorrow.

Went to Busco last fall one day. Not bad, the but trails are really hard on a two wheeler....lots of deep mud. Even the 2wd quads were turning around and not going down the trails. Lots of sand pits and other open areas to ride, but the trails are not marked as "one way". Most aren't marked at all. Quads going every which direction!

Supposedly Busco banned the consumption of alcohol on the premises....but I have heard very recently that people are still carrying coolers of beer around on their quads and riding drunk....it's not being enforced. I guess several deaths over the past several years wasn't enough?

Wishes he were able to go riding in a mud hole today... Instead I get to play at 911 and deal with everyone else's "hey watch this" moments!

argh....

this thread is fn killing me. My DR350 has zero compression. Trust me, bikes don't run well w/o compression. Hopefully just a decompression lever malfunction. I say hopefully because that's the best possible scenario I can think of.
