Myself and 4 boys drove my truck to the hot springs to find this.

The Dad and the 2 young kids were OK but they needed help getting their van upright. We hooked the line from my winch up to a snatchblock I put on a rock and back down to their van. With a bit of 12v muscle we rolled the van back over. 2 hours later the guy drove off.

avern, that would have been a great loop if there was fuel at the warm springs. so, next year...we're going to have a stationary vehicles at the springs with gas, food and beer (swimming trunks too for the shy ones... ). if we have to pay dearly, so be it. this loop is a MUST!...

hey tim, nice video; the pics from roger, dsm8, r3r3r and dirtdiver are all awesome.

Death Valley Noob ride Day 1, Friday - Nowwhat, Rruugger, Sito and Toast

Nowwhat, Rruugger, Sito and Toast set out to truck it to Mojave and ride to DV.
Every trip always starts with a cup of jo

Started to get windy near Mojave, this big puffy cloud was truly amazing. I started to think of JohnGil riding against the wind...

Mapping out the route while we wait for breakfast.

Sorry, I always take pictures of everything.......

Parked at a high security facility and we were off

All of that gear was trying to hold onto the rear of Nowwhat's bike, ended up tugging on the turn signals..... approx cost $20.

Headed into the first rocky section, loving it!

Ruugger with his trademark rock toss

Taking a short break, no rush today.

Hitting some high speeds on these fire roads, wishing the 690 had 7th gear.

So this is what I see a lot of.......dust. I stop, take the picture or video, put the camera away and then try and catch up.

We had a little navigation issues here, lost 2 hours. I need to learn GPS navigation and not forgetting to pay attention to the basic landmarks, shadows and common sense.

Rare sighting of yea TOAST

A rare dead end ... Rruugger donuts the 640 Adventure.

Mine, not yours, or is it his?

She did pretty well, not perfect but good.

El Paso Mountains in the distance.

Slabbin it

Nowwhat putting that new tank to good use.

Passing the Pinnacles, on the way this is as close as we got.

After lunch we have a way to go

The first sign of good things to come

Nowwhat hitting a hill.

Rruugger stops for a break and tips that 640 on its side, nothing broke
Nowwhat was laughing

Nowwhat then put his boot on the bike to ensure I got the shot

One of my subframe bolts broke. Nowwhat thought a trail side repair was possible. We loosened the airbox and was then able to grab the 2 threads on the inside of the frame and screw the bolt all the way through. Sito had the perfect size replacement bolt and we were on our way. Nowwhat did me well. Approximate cost $30

He also did my Renazco well too. PARTY FOUL! 7 years bad luck! WFT!
You just don't go stepping on a man's Renazco!

It got a little dusty on this trail.

Had a couple of drinks here

Stayed the night at this fine place.

I was the last one to put something on the bed to claim bottom bunk. Also with the fact that my bike bolt broke, I felt doomed to a top bunk. My 230 pounds was wiggling on that cheap top bunk. I kept movements to a minimum to ensure I didn't come crashing down on Rruugger.

A neighbor took this picture before we headed out on day 2

We had a quick breakfast

yea toast.......to be continued............................

This was one of the first sharp turns coming out of the dessert leaving Saline Valley. Apparently this guy was busy rolling a cig and was not paying attention. Drove up on the burm, hit a rock and rolled. The other thing was that there were only 2 seats in the van holding the dad and the boy. The girl was asleep on a mattress in the back. They were lucky.

We were actually not he first on the seen. There were a couple guys in a 4runner coming back from the racetrack that were helping.

When we go there the girl was still crying. By the time the van was upright and we were getting ready to leave, she told some passers by that,"You are too late, you missed all the fun!".

What route did you take from Mojave to Trona? Looked like fun but I have never seen some of the trails you were on and I have ridden that area for over 15 years. There is always new places to find in the desert.
