Day 7
![]() we had heard that there was a trail that left from BoLA and meet up with the window rock trail, we must try. The directions went something like this, go up the road until it turns to dirt take the first left go past a cactus then then pass a dump and our there. Okay The new trail turned out to be quite nice. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As we mopped up the last of the single track for this trip, we headed down Calamuja and on to Gonzaga for dinner and little fire fighting on the husky. ![]() ![]() After the little fire we had some rewiring to do, then out to the beach for the night. Day 8 Today would be a nice easy ride back to San Felipe, catch a little 250 action and sadly roll the bikes in the truck for the ride home. ![]() ![]() ![]() Well that's all I've got, It was one of if not the best Baja trip I have had. I WISH I WAS IN BAJA RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all that have viewed and commented, It was great to relive this trip. Berg

Legend in the making
Bill Nickles, I hope I spelled his name right, dirt riders everywhere need to remember his name. We have ridden a couple of trails he pioneered. The quality of his trail making is incredible, his knowledge of the landscape is inspiring, determination unfathomable. There has been a few locations we have ridden that caused us to shudder, the thought of him building a trail through knowing we would have to ride it. If you wander past some single track somewhere, anywhere, turn around and take it, an adventure awaits. BAJA is special in many ways Mr. Nickles just made it more fun. Travel to BAJA ride the shit out of your bike, take lots of photos, make friends, leave no regrets. Thanks to Mr. Nickels & all those that inspired him, play hard. Joe

BOLA to Calamajue trail ??
So do you guys think the BOLA to Calamajue trail can be ridden on the 950SE I bought from ADVjackass?
He's seen some of the photos of stuff I've ridden. Of course, that's assuming I don't catch it on fire.

950 Se
Hi jonz, I know you rode the Hibachi in Baja on some tough stuff. I bought a 950SE last fall & would like to bring it down, but that particular stretch from Bola to the lake bed would be tough, from the lake bed Norte of Bola on the window rock would be difficult as well but not impossible. I would not ride it on the big bike by myself. The single track on a loaded big bike, might be a little much for me. We ride with a fella that could do it, but he is a much more capable, younger rider than myself. There definitley is sections that would be a royal kick in the ass, but others that would kick your ass. Joe

i think you should give it a shot!! it will make for a great ride report. i think the toughest section would be on the BOLA side. their are a few rocky technical climbs. well maybe the 10 miles of woops or that section on the window rock. personally, i would not want to do it on a xr 650, the lighter bike made it more enjoyable. good luck because we all know you will give it a go.
