Greyledge Rd!

So I just checked the map for a narrow country road in my area that I hadn't ridden on because thats what I do when I have a couple hours in the evening to get a ride in. So I picked this road. Its a nice narrow paved road that has some great scenery of course, but then it turns into a wicked dirt/gravel/rock road. I think that it gets very very little travel, and VDOT has two signs warning you. The first is "not recommended for motor vehicle use" and then later another sign that was knocked over that said something about how VDOT does not ever remove snow on this road. The first couple miles is the typical gravel road thru some farmland but when it turns to large loose rocks and about 8 stream crossings it gets pretty crazy, at least to me. This road had me more worried than 618 or the rough road up to bald mtn. Its not very long, but it featured some mud, some loose rocks in dry and wet creek beds, and some muddy ruts filled and covered with old leaves. Unfortunately, forgot my gopro at home. If you're in the roanoke area..check it out sometime.

Fun road! I've been on a couple of times, much more interesting than the typical gravel road around southwest VA.

I can verify both it is a fun road and yes you have been on it. Highlands you should make the TVR breakfast at the Greenwood Sunday the 7th there will be a few riders there that can point you in the right direction. AB:-)
