Jason, I'm always ready to ride again. My resolution is "Always get the camera out when IHF is crossing!"

Great ride, thanks for the tour.

RZ, glad your only limping, and not in a cast!

Hmmmm.. I doubt that, if the excitement and enthusiasm in his voice after the ride was any indication.. Pretty sure Hickman county left a very favorable impression on Mr. Troy

You know, I went out this morning to get that Natchez Trace tag and the bike started like nothing ever happened. Started right up, fast idle on choke, turned the choke off and it sat there and purred like a kitten.

I was going to take the carb off and clean it real good but now I wonder. Yea, it got water in there....but it was crystal clear spring water....no muddy silt stuff.

As I went to get the tag I kept gagging it to tray and flush out the bowl and main jet, but even then it acted like it always did. It's probably had 50 miles put on it since the flooding.

I guess I'll change the oil (needs it anyways) and pretend like the flood never happened. Unless some wiser voices have other suggestions??

Don't let the gray in the beard fool you - I'm still young & indestructible!
I seem to be walking like Fred Sanford today, though!

IHF - those DRZ's a legendary for a reason ... I bet she'll be just fine with an oil change.

Thanks again for leading a great ride yesterday!

Like RZ said, It's a DRZ. What he left out was, "It's not a BMW or KTM, ride the piss out of it!" (sorry, Doug and Steve)

Sorry ya dunked it, IHF. Glad it ended up working out.

RZ, you too. Glad you're just a little sore and that's it.

Otherwise, sounds like a fun ride! Surprised I didn't see you on your way over. I was out pretty early as well. I saw a few bikes out on my way back in around 9:30. Today was different. Not a soul.

I am looking at the Klim Helmet.

I've never worn MX goggles - How is it riding all day with goggles on - does it get on your nerves?

I love the KLIM helmet.... It works well in the winter too. I only ride with goggles and really like it. The only full face hemet I have ever had was a DS style helmet and it was ok but I always wore goggles with it.

I like the Scott 89xi they make it with a nose piece and a thermal lens so it won't fog up on you... they work really well with the Klim helmet....

If you look around you can find an older Klim helmet if you are not particular about the color.

I really like how the nose guard goes over the front. It keeps the rain out.

That was my other concern - rain - what about all the wind scoops going over the top. Don't they scoop the rain in?

With the winter guard in its not really a problem. In the summer if cought in the rain it really doesn't matter. It will run down the back of the helmet. Not too bad.

It breaths really good when its hot... you won't be disappointed...

Yea the klims are really good at moving air over your head. In the summer time when the pack stops to take a break, everyone is always sweating in thier hair and face and mine is always dry. People say "don't you ever sweat?" Sure I do, it just dries. HA, I bet with your shaved head you would really feel the air moving thu you would never have any sweat.

Now in the winter it would probably work too well and your brain would freeze. They come with a liner. Thats what WP does, puts in his liner. I'm too lazy too I guess . I like the DS helmet that way I don't have to wear goggles b/c of the face shield.

My DS helmet is an AFX or whatever and the shield is so curved it has a bit of distortion in it, but you get used to it.

If you don't mind dropping the coin I would get a klim. You could always go back to your full face helmet if it got too chilly. So you would have to wear goggles or glasses. I like glasses better but your eyes tend to dry out, so you have to use drops. WP likes goggles better. If you get some goggle you could get some "quick straps" too. That way when you take your goggles off they just hang on the side of your helmet. I think my helmet is an XL. You can try it if you want.

Oh and rain, I've never really rode in the rain wearing my Klim. I imagine some water would come in the first big intake, but the others in the bak not so much.

Checkedg the valves on my Z tonight and it looks like I'm gunna need to shim them soon. They are either at, or close to minimum spec.
