Just one more gear question - Rob Feature and SScratch I think mentioned the Gore tec soc's wearing out fast.

You are the one I'm watching on those Klim's - Are they staying together?

I really don't do a lot of walking in them so it shouldn't be an issue. My old rockys lasted like 20 years..... I just wore a hole in them so they were shot... I don't know I think they will last a long time... just don't go hiking in them....

I know you're looking into Klim gear. Good stuff, no doubt. But THIS is more your style.
And I'll vouch for this hat. I really love mine.

Yea - I've got both these helmets side by side on the computer here for decision viewing!

I really like one thing I have heard more than once from IHF / WP which is the air flow keeping them cool on those days that I was over heating a bit.

BUT the DS is My Style! I WANT THEM BOTH!

OH Yea - And just My Can You See Me Now Color! ........ The Klim also is LOUD in the RED ...

The Arai is very well vented. And it' s surprisingly warm in the cooler temps as well. It is so well vented that I was worried about it in the cold. Shut the vents off and she's good. Lots of on-line review out there.
Time for a new lid!

CDQ3 I feel it. This past year I haven't needed a doctor to tell me I need glasses. I can see the lack of seeing need for them all by my self!

DeBandi your joking right? How can you wear glasses under goggles?

Sorry about the eye glasses CDQ. Make sure you get the X-Ray option when you order your new specs .

I've got a friend that wears glasses and rides but he rides woods (slower speeds). SOunds like our options might be:

Contact lenses
Prescription goggles
A cheapo set of glasses with large lenses and an helmet without a sheild
A DS helmet with a sheild and yournew "regular" glasses.

It'll all work out and you'll get used to them in so time. I suppose my time is getting close too

I've tried glasses with all my helmets and I can do it if necessary. But they tend to fog up and squish up against my big head and generally make it uncomfortable. However, I've been wearing contacts as well for many years and make it a point to have my contacts in if I'm going riding. I can see better and and don't have to worry about adjustments. The only time it sucks is when I'm riding with a bunch of you FFs down dusty roads...get little mud puddles in my eyes . And that starts making things uncomfortable. And I can only do it for so long. At some point I have to quit or get out front. I guess for those of ya who wear goggles, that's not a problem, but I don't like my offroad helmet near as much as my Shoei RF1000. Maybe it's time to drop some coin on a real DS helmet and good goggles...might make all the difference. Anybody else work around contacts?
